Correct me if I´m wrong. Is it not the people´s fault that the environment is not what it used to be? We used to have 4 Seasons, Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter but now, between Spring and Summer is Rainy Season or no Summer-just Rainy Days and Flooding! What is happening? Last Fall, I did not see that the trees changed its colors from green to gold. Snowfall came but the leaves were still green and just fell off from the branches, just like that!

What can I say? We had so much Rainfall last year as if we are in another continent! Maybe the axis of the earth shifted slowly without us knowing it? After the earthquake in Chile and Fukushima, part of its land mass really shifted.

Well, remember Muroroa Atoll many years ago when France made some Atomic tests under the seaground which made Greenpeace active and not to forget Bikini Atoll way, way back? It could be that Greenpeace was never been born then. Questions after questions and no answers in sight. But you don´t want to go on holiday there. The blue-green waters are maybe deceiving. In the evening, you may be in a Discotheque drinking some Bloody Mary, Screw Driver, Blue Curacao or just Gin and Tonic in some other islands close to Muroroa and find yourself shining through and through, highly Radioactive. I love Tahiti, also a French colony, its beautiful people and its beautiful islands. I saw on TV about a documentary over Salomon Islands and slowly, the water is rising and the islands are sinking. So many people fled already to escape. The salty water seeps into the soil which makes it difficult to plant vegetables and tropical plants like bananas, mangoes, etc.

April showers bring May flowers. It rained the whole week and the temperature is still under 20's. I started to plant the seeds in my made-up greenhouse and I see them everyday sprouting one by one. The bigger the seed, the faster it comes out of its shell coating.
But, I have to wait for the Ice Saints to pass by.

On 16.May, you can start working on your garden but watch for the hail and gale. Put some dried straws in between the plants so that water won't vaporize easily and straws will keep the soil damp. The problem are the hungry snails of all sorts, naked ones and shelly ones, red ones, brown ones, black ones and white ones. They will nest underneath the straws and feed on the plants. At the the break if dusk, you have to make some round controls on or about the plants, lifting the straws to see if some sleeping snails are around and remove them. The white ones are the queens which lay the eggs. Have you ever seen a snail moving? They move quite fast so this fantasy that snails are moving slowly is a great lie.

My biggest problem is that my garden is located along side the creek. The snails breed and live there. As soon as it rains, their slimy trails could be seen all over. I am powerless. I don't want to buy this anti-snail grains to make them dry-out after eating. I am afraid that the plants could take the chemicals in them and I am the last in the cycle. One possibility is I buy this special Duck which eat the snails. The other problem is, the wild Marten will eat the Duck.

One funny episode which really happened some years ago was about the Pheasant and the Marten. When my neighbor was going home from a party and driving on a country road, he saw this Pheasant lying on the road. That was not the funny part. He picked it up and tied it on a tree. It was too late to go to the Vet and no chance for the Pheasant to make it. Overnight, the Marten discovered about the Pheasant hanging on a pine tree and since the tie knot was sturdy enough, the Marten could wrigle and wiggle until only a pair of black legs were hanging on the rope.

Until now, I could hear the Marten running up and down our indoor Wintergarden. He runs fast and in the morning, I could see his paw marks spread all over the car from the hood to the trunk. His favourite place to do his "every morning business" is the radio antenna. Religiously, he would leave some mounds of cherry seeds there. As long as it does not harm the car or eat the cables, we live and let live.
