Go Green, Nature and Ecological lenses

Ranked #12,344 in Healthy Living, #197,555 overall

One of my passions is nature: it's essential to my mental health to have something green to look out at when I'm working. As I feel humanity is very busy stretching the limits of what can be safely done to our planet, I've made a few pages online that deal with this problem. On the other hand, the spiritual side to living with nature is also very interesting to me.

On this page you will find all that, as well as several pages dealing with vegetarianism: why I'm vegetarian, vegetarian quotes and vegetarian cooking.

Learning biology

I've been in and out of college for the last 15 years. Among other things I studied to be a chemistry teacher. What I think I loved most about that, was the biology lessons. I had dropped biology in high school and was very glad to rectify that mistake in teachers college.

Our professors took great pride in teaching us not just about species of plants, evolution and so on, but also about the environment. They wanted us to become ambassadors for environmental consciousness. Since I've quit teaching the only place where I've been able to share some of that is online. So here you go: about birds, vegetarianism and going green.

elementals and nature spirits, H.P. Blavatsky, Modern Theosophy
THE Universal Æther was not, in the eyes of the ancients, simply a tenantless something, stretching throughout the expanse of heaven; it was for them a boundless ocean, peopled like our familiar earthly seas, with Gods, Planetary Spirits, monstrous and minor creatures, and having in its every molecule the germs of life from the potential up to the most developed.

Skating on natural ice - Meditating on nature | Life style
The wonder of ice on a lake: it will sing when people skate on it. It's the sound of the ice vibrating. A unique sound. Grey skies and the white of the ice on the trees and the dark colours of the trees around the lake (without any leaves).
Nature is healthy!; the city isn't! | Life style
The point is: city life is bad for our mental processes. We are bombarded with so many stimuli, that our brain overloads.
