Nature Postcards on Zazzle
We've always enjoyed collecting postcards of our favorite animals or scenes and so we decided to feature postcards of many of our best nature and animal photographs. We like to use postcard size photographs of birds or animals to make attractive composite framed pictures to decorate our home. All of these and more are available at our Naturally Native Creations Gallery on Zazzle.com.
Nature Photography
We love to photograph and paint nature and we hope that our photographic and art postcards will help spread the word about the interesting plants and animals that inhabit our great state of Louisiana. All of these postcards (and more) are available on our Naturally Native Creations Gallery on Zazzle. We hope you enjoy viewing these and if you like what you see and want to see more, be sure to visit our gallery.
Postcard Facts according to Wiki
A postcard or post card is a rectangular piece of thick paper or thin cardboard intended for writing and mailing without an envelope. In some places, it is possible to send them for a lower fee than for a letter. Stamp collectors distinguish between postcards (which require a stamp) and postal cards (which have the postage pre-printed on them). While a postcard is usually printed by a private company, individual or organization, a postal card is issued by the relevant postal authority. The United States Postal Service defines a postcard as: rectangular, at least 3½ inches high × 5 inches long × 0.007 inches thick
and no more than 4¼ inches high × 6 inches long × 0.016 inches thick;http://web.archive.org/web/20080120115502/http://www.usps.com/businessmail101/mailcharacteristics/cards.htm (in metric; 12.7 cm × 8.9 cm). However, some postcards have deviated from this (for example, shaped postcards).
The study and collecting of postcards is termed deltiology.

Ivory Billed Woodpecker
Woodpecker Facts on Wiki
The woodpeckers, piculets and wrynecks are a family, Picidae, of near-passerine birds. Members of this family are found worldwide, except for Australia and New Zealand, Madagascar, and the extreme polar regions. Most species live in forests or woodland habitats, although a few species are known to live in treeless areas such as rocky hillsides and deserts.
The Picidae are just one of the eight living families in the order Piciformes. Members of the order Piciformes, such as the jacamars, puffbirds, barbets, toucans and honeyguides, have traditionally been thought to be very closely related to the woodpeckers, piculets and wrynecks. More recently, DNA sequence analyses have confirmed this view.Johansson & Ericson (2003)
There are about 200 species and about 30 genera in this family. Many species are threatened or endangered due to loss of habitat or habitat fragmentation. Two species of woodpeckers, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker and the Imperial Woodpecker, have been considered extinct for about 30 years (there has been some controversy recently whether these species still exist).
