My grandma used to pick the yellow flowers that grew in Ohio along the roadsides, she would dry them and make tea! Not sure if they had any health properties but I will always remember her doing it. I also learned how to pick mushrooms from her!

Wonderful herbal compendium you've put together here. I wrote an entire lens devoted to calendula - it's useful for so many different things, I'm always amazed when I find a new use for it. I'm also a big fan of Arnica - my husband won't leave the house without a bottle in his bag (falling off of horses happens!). Thank you!

Thanks for stopping by eccles1. Yes sage is a very good general "medicine". There is an old saying that goes "if a man has sage in his garden, why should he die". I don't know that it can make you immortal, but it certainly covers a multitude of illnesses. :)

I'm fairly new to Squidoo, and all the folks over at Squidu were wonderful in helping me make a better, more eye appealing lens. I'm not finished with it yet (may never be, there's lots to say on this subject) so keep checking back.

I am a huge fan of natural healing and have not used prescriptions in over 5 years for me or my family. When something goes wrong most of the time nature can fix it if you know where to look

What an awesome lens. More people should try using these cures before running off to the doctor. Anything that helps people take a proactive health approach is certainly worth exploring.

Some people can not take many treatments from
Doctors due side effects, herbal help provides
nearly direct remedy with no other upsets. When
the correct herb is used, making the any Doctor
of great use in finding the source of illness.
Many people go for prescriptions that never get
filled. Yet we need to know that herbs can be
slower than many stronger drugs, yet some times
more effective in the long run. Yet today many
Doctors price drive people back to herbs. Not
so easy so good luck and stay healthy.
