When I think of Nautical Themed Tote Bags, I think about taking them on a cruise. But nautical tote bags are quite popular among not only cruisers, but also boaters, and other travelers.

I also see people carrying them out and about town, as well as to the beach. So, the ones on this page might be good gift ideas.

Also, if you are thinking about booking a cruise, or know of someone who is, a nautical tote or a giid travel bag is a must. I hope you'll enjoy the ones I've gathered onto this page.

Cruise Packing Tip #1

Pack for the Afternoon and Evening in your Carry-on

type=tPersonalized Cruise BagWhen you cruise, you'll check all your luggage except your carry-on(s) at the pier before boarding. Your checked luggage will arrive at your stateroom a few hours later.

In you carry-on be sure you pack all your medications, small valuables, electronics and anything you may need for the afternoon and early evening. Especially if you have chosed early seating for dinner, there is a possibility that all of your bags may not arrive before time to dress for dinner.

If you plan on getting some sun, or taking a dip in the ship's pool that first afternoon, you'll want your bathing suit and cover-up in your carry-on, as well.

Cruise Packing Tip #2

Cross-Pack

type=Anchor-Messenger-BagExcept for your carry-on(s), you will check all your luggage at the pier before boarding. Your checkecd bags will be delivered to your stateroom several hours later. And, they may not all arrive at once. One bag may be later than the others by a couple of hours.

Cross-pack with your cruising companion.

For example -
If you are traveling with your husband, pack one full change of clothes for him in your bag, and one complete change for you in his bag.
That way, should his bag be late arriving, you'll have something in your bag for him to wear. And vice versa.

Cruise Packing Tip #3

DON'T Fill Those Bags!

You'll bring back more than you take with you. Pack light. I know it's hard to do, but try!
I pack a LOT lighter than I did on my first cruise, but even after 35 or so cruises, I always come back with something I didn't wear.

It seems like when you get ready to pack to leave the ship, things never fit into your luggage as nicely as they did on the front end. PLUS, you'll have the inevitable souvenirs, even if it's only a couple of T-Shirts.

Your best bet is to use expandable luggage - the kind that zips out to create additional room. You might also consider packing an empty canvas carry in your luggage just in case.
