Name Change Pending - Extreme Improv

Ranked #31,617 in Entertainment, #391,750 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund

Extreme Improv for an Extreme World

Extreme Improv, is a groundbreaking formula that calls for 100% interactive audience participation combined with elements that make traditional improv funny, topped with liberal doses of danger, pain, humiliation, torture, electricity, violence, ice, food, potential drowning, potential loss of consciousness, pharmaceuticals, and partial-to-full nudity.

It's a brave new world and these men are ready to conquer it! You never know what to expect with the extreme improv comedy of Name Change Pending!

Improv Taken to the Extreme

Taking the Term "Kick it up a Notch" to a Whole New Level!

These guy do it again. They have taken the normal everyday improv games like one might have seen on "Who's Line is it Anyways" and combined it with daredevil stunts that you may have seen on "Jackass." We like to think of it as "Who's jackass is it anyways?" Thus creating a new brand of improv... extreme improv!

Name Change Pending has invented and perfected such unusual games as "Head in a Bucket of...", "A Flogging Good Time", "Ice On the Rocks", "Cram It!", "Shock Therapy", "Drug of Choice", and "Strip Torture". Name Change Pending is constantly developing and producing new games, with the intent to keep our production fresh.

The sole purpose of Extreme Improv is simple: To make the audience laugh out loud... and that's just what they do!

You will never know what to expect at a show... one show even saw two 80 year old female audience members joyously swinging a Cat-o'-Nine-Tails. Cast members regularly get flogged, clamped with clothes pins and once they were beaten with chalk dust filled socks!

Rare is it when they don't hear a round of "I can't believe that they did that!" from audience members as they leave the show. That's probably why they keep coming back for more.

Name Change Pending is now officially the longest running show at the Orlando Fringe Festival (eight consecutive years) May 14-May 24, 2009!

Jonathan Pitt: Producer Chicago Improv Festival

I loved it. You guys ran up there looking like every other as-hole improv troupe with your matching shirts...and then you do something completely different. I loved the whips and we all shared your pain when you got hit. The audience participation was great. I love the longshoreman look."

New Extreme Game Ideas

NCP is always looking for new EXTREME Games... Any Ideas?

NCP always welcomes new ides for extreme improv games. There are no rules (sort of...) Well, we are human, so we need to be alive at the end of the game. One of us is a teacher and he would like to keep his job (unless we get picked up by a nationally syndicated show... bring back strip torture)!

So... Bring it on!

“Extreme Improv for an Extreme World is their slogan, be sure to catch this wild ride!”

Drug of Choice at Chicago's Snubfest 2007

Name Change Pending invented a new extreme game called 'Drug of Choice.' It's similar to emotions however in this game we take a list of drugs from the audience (we often have audience members just empty their purses - ha ha). Then we ask for a suggestion of a children's story or a fairy tale. In this scene they chose 'Little Red Riding Hood.' We then performs a short scene from the story as it was originally intended. We then perform the same scene several times as if we are on the pre-selected...'Drug of Choice!' -Rock On!

PS - What drug was the camera man on?

Jay Murray

Growing up in Boca Raton, Jay has been a comedian all his life, or so his mother told him. While attending Boca High and Palm Beach Community College, Jay pursued theatre with a passion. Beginning in 1991, Jay performed Children's Theatre at The Drama Center and Little Palm Family Theatre on and off for ten years. Bored with memorizing lines, Jay joined Comics Anonymous Improvisation Troupe of South Florida. Wanting more creative control, numerous members split from C.A. and formed Name Change Pending. Four years later, Jay is the only original member left, leaving him in charge. In 2001, Jay recast NCP with new amazingly talented performers and the success of the troupe has been outstanding. Currently, Jay runs his family business and is a substitute teacher of History in Palm Beach County. Jay is also an ordained Reverend and is currently looking for 12 disciples to go drinking with.

Eric Kurit

Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Eric spent most of his childhood growing up in South Florida. While attending the University of Michigan, Eric ran Laughtrack, the student comedy club, where he performed regularly during his college career. During that time, Eric also performed stand up at comedy clubs throughout the Midwest, as well as, all over Florida. After his stand up career, he began working as a DJ, spinning at several clubs and radio stations.

Brad Hunter

Brad brings an eclectic mélange of improvisational street theater to the group. He is best known for his role as Maxwell Silverhammer, the Royal Executioner at the Florida Renaissance Festival, and has played demented versions of French Admirals, English Dukes, and Barber-Surgeons that no country will claim. At Pirates in Paradise, he played a sea dog with an advanced case of scurvy, aptly named Barry Cuda. A superhero, a mad scientist, and a cop in a murder-mystery play round out this bizarre list. He has dabbled in stunt work (swords, hand-to-hand) with the Royal Chessmen, sings in a madrigal group called Dragonsfaire, and plays the dumbek, the tin whistle, and the conch shell.

MIke Bach

Born "Edgar Knopfbaum," Mike suckled at the teat of a scruffy, but very maternal, german Shepard after being abandoned in upstate New York by an unmarried, former housekeeper for the Kennedy's. When Mike was roughly 6, he stumbled onto a highway and a caused a multi-vehicle accident. Shortly thereafter, the feral tyke was adopted by the hypochondriac, bi-polar EMT, Edna Dawkins, who found him at the scene. After eleven years of Edna shoving children's aspiring and cough medicine into him, Mike ran away and joined the circus. He quickly found a home amongst the clowns. He was a quick study and developed into the very popular "Halitosis Harry." After a wildly over-blown, and often repeated, incident involving a bottle of Southern Comfort and a bull elephant, Mike left the circus, but not clowning. Out on his own, Mike turned to street clowning, and was able to put himself through chiropractic college on the money tossed into his worn black derby with the polka dot sash. Mike discovered Improv after waking up in the back of Jay's car with an empty bottle of Southern Comfort under his arm and a nasty rash on his stomach. With the exception of a two year stint in California (trying to find himself), Mike has been with NCP ever since.

Matthew Kurit

Matthew Kurit has been performing on and off with Name Chang Pending since 2002. He brings his own unique style of comedy with crazy characters such a motivational speaker man and autistic guy. Matt is a father of two beautiful girls and three not as beautiful dogs. Matt is easily recognizable as he is always the one wearing either Ohio State or Cleveland Indians gear.
