Notre Dame High School is located 85 miles from Kampala City in the Central Region of Uganda on Bukakata Road - Mukungwe Sub-county Kirinda Village Masaka District.

It was founded by a group of voluntary educationists and teachers who felt pity of the disadvantaged and orphaned children on streets and in very poor homes and those whose parents died of AIDS. The school is founded on Catholic Christian faith pillars and is both secondary and vocational. The school is expected to accommodate 550 pupils both females and males.

NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT,

RAISING THE NEXT GENERATION OF UGANDANS BY PURSUING EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMIC AND PRACTICAL SKILLS INTEGRITY IN CONDUCT AND MORAL VALUES, SO THAT EACH CHILD WILL BECOME A REPONSIBLE AND PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN OF THE NATION.

OBJECTIVES:
1-To absorb children from absolute poor families who can't afford secondary or vocational training fees.
2-To educate and train helpless orphaned children in Mpigi and Masaka and Rakai Districts and make them useful world citizens.
3- To cater, train and educate the disadvantaged girls (drop-outs due to early pregnancies or lack of school fees or care).
4- To cater for basic health and nutrition of the pupils on board.
5- To research into problems that affect adolescence learning especially girl child.

SCHOOL DISCIPLINE TRAINING STATEMENT:

We endeavor to train our students/pupils to become good leaders by provision of Conducive environment to students/pupils pursuing excellence in academic and practical skills and in which the rights and needs of pupils/students are met and protected.
Here:
-The children learn and teachers teach.
-Children make choices and take the responsibility to experience the consequences of these choices in order to build moral character.
- We deliver the services on Biblical perspective. Proverbs 22:6 says teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older they remain upon it.

BASICS IN INSTILLING DISCIPINE AT NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL:
%u2022 We train the hearts of the children and create a moral bank in the heart of the children we care for, so that they know how to govern themselves from within rather than from outside.
- We train the minds of the children by providing formal education.
- We train the body of the child we care for by promotion of extra curricula activities (sports, music, creative arts, crafts, etc.)

Much help is needed, but the under motioned, urgently need your help:

1. At the moment the school has 219 copies of books in the library, which are not enough for the pupils to read and for the teachers to use as textbooks.

A kind person or organizations are needed to help with books.

2. Lab equipments: Though it's compulsory in Uganda, all Secondary and Vocational School to teach Science Subjects, Notre Dame High School has only 20 text tubes and one (1) cornical flask in the laboratory.

There is an urgent need for lab equipments and a kind school or individual or organization is requested to offer a helping hand by donating either used equipments or new ones or the funding for the purchase of these lab equipments or the chemicals.
3. Notre Dame High School, opened on the 05th February 2007 and as I write, it has registered 239 pupils. The school expects to cater for 550 pupils, but as I write now only 90 pupils can sit on chairs and the lest have to stand while attending classes and while very few can use tables (12 available) to use for writing the lest have to use the floor or their bodies when writing.

There is an urgent need for kind people or schools or organizations, to help and donate some used furniture so that this problem is solved.

4. Notre Dame High School, caters for both boarding and day pupils, but there are no enough beds for the children to sleep on, nor the mattresses. Many who cannot afford to bring for themselves use the floor, with carpets.

There is a need for beds, blankets, mosquito nets and mattresses.
We call upon kind people or organizations to help so that this problem is solved.

5. Notre Dame High School, does teach vocational subjects and agriculture, but there is no single tools to use to teach the pupils.

We call upon kind people or organizations to help us with used tools so that children can be the practical skills required while at school.

6. Notre Dame High School, is located in the slum suburbs of Nyendo and Masaka, but also many children have been selected from far distances (some over 5km) and have to walk to come to school daily.

There is a great need for kind people or individuals or organizations to help Notre Dame High School buy a school bus so that its pupils can use it for transport to school, and back home.

Sports equipment is most needed so that the students can benefit from participating in sporting activities
