- Mr. Boortz;
The time has come for us to complete our present system of government. We need one that will gives us better control over our Representatives and the President. The old checks and balances are not working to improve control over our life, they only glorify the president, congress or big business. This nation is not a democracy, at best we are a representative type of governments, but as it now stands we are an oligarchy.
The states need to repeal the Amendments that allowed for popular vote for our Federal Congressmen and Representatives, we need to recall our congress now, not wait for November, we will never vote the reprobates and charlatans out of office, be they “Republican or Democrats,” none will relinquish power and control over the people, for they are all the same when it comes making their world better at our expense, we need to get our representatives and government under control of the states and people they are suppose to serve.
The problem with this congress is that they writes laws for big businesses to get around state laws, so is federal laws going to take precedence over the state? I don’t live in Washington, D.C. and I don’t want the laws to put me and my family in jeopardy for business to make a profit over my health and control my life.
Congress men should not be allowed to have offices or live in Washington D. C., they should not go there except to override a vetoes or to declare war, all transactions can be done over the internet and debate take place on PBS. When they go to Washington, they can stay in transit billets on the Military Bases around Washington.
Senators and Representatives offices must be in their home state, within their districts, the federal and state laws will be drafted on the internet, which means, we must streamline our government offices that have too much duplication on all levels of the state and national level.
The Offices of the U. S. President and Congress needs to be changed, both in how we elect them and their duties and responsibilities instead of letting them making their own rules. The yearly budget shall be compiled by the Office of Budget and Management to run the Military and Federal Civil Service offices, while the money will come from the Federal governments share of the sale tax collected from each state to pay salaries automatically, and nothing more, which the state governor must release to the federal government to pay salaries. The use of this money will not need an the consent or appropriation of congress to pay salaries and the commitments to protect the nation and the states of the union. Money for new national or international spending would require a referendum vote of the states before it can be appropriated, all citizens must register to vote on all issue and a 75% quorum of register voters to become legal.
The Governors from each state will appoint their congressmen from the states legislators for only the governors term in office, and the governors will be the electoral college that confirms and impeaches the President of the U.S. The state and federal officials representatives will only be paid minimum wage, their retirement will be social security, and their medical will be under medicare, just like everyone else. The point of heath care should be to stay heathy, not for doctors and medicine large companies to get rich.
This is a ruff draft, but the intent is to gain control over our government, there are a lot of details to worked out, however this appear to be the best way to end Congresses’ ability to past laws without consent of the people of each state, thus ending federal mandates and pay-offs on the national and international level.
