Back in Action
If you have followed College Football at all, you know the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I was born and raised here. All we HAVE is College Football. There are Nebraska Fans in Every State in the US and even some fan clubs over-seas. For the first time in 4 years THIS Cornhusker fan is looking forward to the college football season. Dr. Tom is at his desk, Bo Pellini and Barney Cotton are out on the Field, and all is right with the world!
Adios Steve Pederson~Welcome back Dr. Tom
Old School Nebraska OR As The Football Spins
Nebraska was in a daze when Steve Pederson fired Frank Solich. WTH? Well, I know, that is old news, but the Good Citizens of Nebraska were dumb-struck. At the end of a winning season you don't fire your head coach. You don't deprive him of leading his team to the bowl game. Since that time Pederson went on to make more and more bone-headed moves causing Nebraska to fall near the ranks of the VFW Football team. It wasn't our players. Ex Coach Callahan tried to blame them, but the administration was to blame. What kind of College Coach BLAMES the team?Cheers could be heard as far as California the day Ole Steve got the heave-ho. I've lived in Nebraska my entire life and haven't seen so many champagne corks being popped since we won the last ORANGE BOWL! (Many years ago, for those of you who are not into college football) Then, our beloved Dr. Tom Osborne came back, not as coach, but Athletic Director. Happy Days are here again! People who were raised on Nebraska Football, but had lost faith (not in the team, but the Administration) were once again contemplating digging out their Nebraska Cornhusker Flags for Game Days! The topper on the cake was the return of Bo Pelini. Pelini, as you will recall, was interim coach when Solich was fired, and Nebraskans wanted HIM to be the new head coach. But NOOOOO, Pederson Hired Callahan, a pro football coach from Oakland to be the new head coach. On Pelini's return he hired back Barney Cotton, the defensive coach that Bill Callahan had fired. We breathed a sigh of relief. Osborne, Cotton, and Pelini home again. We love Bo, the only thing that would sweeten the pot would be for us to somehow honor Solich. Pederson firing Solich without warning was wrong. Not even giving him the satisfaction of leading his team into the bowl game added insult to injury. Nebraskans feel a debt of gratitude to Frank Solich for what he did for Nebraska.

What's in Store?
Of course, Nebraskans are anticipating the climb back up to greatness. It may not happen right away, but there is hope. We already know the first three games will be on Pay Per View. The Nebraska Projected Roster is looking good. (roster listing below)You can expect sellout crowds for every game and the atmosphere will be exciting. The Tunnel Walk at the first game this season should be a great experience. You don't want to miss it. I know I don't!
Husker Gear is filling the racks and shelves again. People may not have much money, but you know Nebraska will be a "Sea of Red" on Game Day. Grocery Stores will again be broadcasting "THE game."
Husker Parties will take on that old flavor as friends gather to cheer on the Huskers. Saturdays again becoming Football Day!
It is an exciting time for Nebraska Fans everywhere.
Right the wrong, set the course, and move forward.

Who is Talking about the Cornhuskers?
The Prayer/Chant
Dear Lord, the battles we go through life,
We ask for a chance that's fair
A chance to equal our stride,
A chance to do or dare
If we should win, let it be by the code,
Faith and Honor held high
If we should lose, we'll stand by the road,
And cheer as the winners go by
Day by Day, we get better and better!
Til' we can't be beat...WON'T BE BEAT!
