Have you ever used a neck traction unit before?
Traction units are called lots of things by many people- even health professionals. You may have used a traction unit during therapy in a physical therapists office, or part of your adjustment with a chiropractor. In the old days, the traction unit was tied to door and your head was on the other end. Somewhat archaic looking devices...but they work for many reasons.
Back to what traction units are called: neck stretchers, cervical traction units, over-the-door traction, pronex, posture pump, traction device, and home traction...

How does the posture pump 1000 work to improve the cervical curve in the neck?
Why is the C Curve so important in the neck spine?
After a car accident, whiplash, fall, or improper posture at work/home, one can lose the proper c curve in the neck. This is also called forward head posture, loss of lordosis in the cspine or "military neck". The posture pump 1000 provides expanded ellipsoidal decompression applied within the lordotic concavity. Over time it works to get the cervical curve back into the neck. This is not an overnight process. It takes time and can cause muscle soreness (similar to when you go to the gym for the first time, and your muscles are sore). It is advisable to do simple neck exercises before starting a neck traction protocol.
For most patients their doctors or physical therapists will recommend 10-15 minutes of cervical traction, at about 3-4 times a week. You have to work up to this level slowly. For some patients it can be a very slow process, because they have increased sensitivity in the c spine.

Is there a difference Between Traction Units?
Does one traction unit provide a different traction experience than another?
You see this brown traction unit on the right that looks like you are wearing ruffles- well you can get a unit on amazon for under $10.00.This also provides neck traction, but not one that I recommend. You see there are different types of neck traction. There are ones that do linear neck traction (up and down), versus ones like the posture pump, which provide traction that allow you to get the C Curve back into your spine.
For some people their Dr recommends this type of neck traction. A simple straight up and down stretch. Will it provide with neck pain relief? YES. In fact doing something is better than doing nothing. Also, if it it helps you to avoid neck surgery or taken pain medications from neck pain, then use it.
Other traction units that help to stretch your neck
A Type of Linear Traction.

- I am very interested in this product. I fight neck pain because of accidents, and sitting in front of the computer. I purchased a product by a woman who became a millionaire from Internet Marketing but developed serious neck pain as a result of sitting in front of the computer.
