Need Student Insurance

I know that in today's difficult times it is even more important that you save your hard earned money where ever possible, that's why I began to research the costs of the International Student Health Insurance required by U.S. Universities today.

You do know that Universities in the U.S. require that students have medical insurance right? Well, I started doing some research into the cost of International Student Medical Insurance and what I found is shocking, especially when compared to the price of a better international student medical plan from a private medical insurance company.

I found that the range of costs for the University sponsored student insurance was $384.00 more to $1,152 more Annually. I found this amazing, how can they charge so much for, in many cases, an inferior insurance plan?

I did a benefit by benefit comparison of the university sponsored plans to the private Student Insurance plans. For almost every Benefit the coverage was better with the private student plan. Of course, there were a few of he Benefits, albeit the less important benefits, for which the university sponsored plan had better coverage. But for the important benefits, the private student insurance plans were always much, much better and substantially less expensive.

I don't know about you, but if I can get a superior product for substantially less, it's a no brainer!

Unfortunately some Universities require that you purchase the Student Insurance from them or their approved plan. In that case you will have no choice but to pay a much higher premium than you would otherwise.

But if that is not the case for the University you or you student will be attending then I urge you to go to Need Student Insurance and take a look at what I found. It will definitely be worth your time if you have a Student traveling to the U.S. to study soon.

If you have 2 or more Students or Scholars participating in a Sponsored Study Abroad Program there are 2 very good plans which might be just right for you.

One of them is an Annually renewable comprehensive medical plan which meets the U.S. student visa requirements and include benefits for maternity. It is also renewable for up to 5 years as long as there is no break in coverage. This plan can be purchased by individuals or by groups of 2 or more. Also all 3 of these plans can include coverage for spouses and unmarried children traveling with them.

The other plan is also for 2 or more students or scholars participating in a sponsored study abroad program. But this plan gives you a choice of 3 unique plans. All 3 plans meet the U.S. visa travel requirements for groups of students studying abroad.

Plan 1 is a Basic Short Term Travel Plan is an economical plan designed for Groups of 2 or more and can be renewed for up to 48 months if the plan is purchased for a minimum of 3 months initially.

Plan 2 is a Standard Short Term Travel Plan. The benefits, of course, are greater than those of the Basic Short Term plan and has your choice of Policy Maximums of 50,000, 250,000 or 500,000 per illness or injury.

Plan 3 is a Long Term Annual Plan which has the flexibility to be tailored to meet specific needs and is renewed annually.
