Negative Calorie Soup Recipe

This is my own negative calorie soup recipe.  Before I started eating a diet of mostly raw foods, I used this soup to lose 8-10 pounds in a week a few times.  It uses negative calorie vegetables, which burn more calories to digest than they actually contain!

Alicia's Negative Calorie Soup Recipe

1 head green cabbage, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
4 large carrots, peeled and sliced
4 stalks celery, sliced
4 turnips, peeled and cut into cubes
2 zucchini, peeled and cut into cubes
2 cans green beans
32 ounces beef stock or chicken stock, or 16 ounces tomato juice and 16 ounces water

Combine all ingredients in a stock pot and bring to a boil.  Add water, if needed, to cover all vegetables.  Reduce heat to a moderate simmer and cover.  Cook about 1 hour, or until all vegetables are tender.

This soup is so easy to make, and you can make a huge pot at one time and keep it in the refrigerator to eat on when you are hungry.

Best of all, it's negative calorie, so eat as much as you want!  The more you eat, the more calories you burn.  But don't eat so much you get sick! :)

Does the negative calorie diet really work?

Yes! The negative calorie diet really does work. It has worked for me several times when I had a few pounds to lose. The good thing is that even if the "negative calorie" aspect does not work, the foods are so low in calories that you would have to eat almost constantly to actually gain weight on the negative calorie diet!

BTW cooking the veggies reverses effect. Raw veggies are neg calorie because they are hard for your body to digest. It uses energy. Cooked are not negative calorie

Hi, I just stumbled upon this lens and I think this is a very good recipe. Out of all the junk out there on the internet about diets, I cannot believe people don't believe in neg cal diet. The thing about it is that the food is so good that you forget all about it being a diet.

I lost ten pounds in two weeks. This is a wonderful diet. For breakfast I ate honeydue, strawberries, oranges, and apples all sliced up and I lost the weight. This is not a diet I struggled with. When you lose the weight you want, you can work in other foods you love (like having a steak salad on the weekends). My husband lost 50 pounds in 4-5 months. Even his doctor was stunned. Love this diet. Forget all the others.

Howdy! I am also raw vegan & I am thinking that one could make that awesome Neg Calorie Soup Recipe of yours raw just by chopping those veggies (even the green beans) into a KTec or Vitamix with veggie broth! It would also be nice to chop a bit of the green beans, carrot & onion to add after blend!
