Neopets - My experience

I have been playing on Neopets since late 2005 and have learned a few things about making neopoints. There are a few ways to go about making neopoints: dailies, playing games, and reselling items. Some of the dailies are free and some cost neopoints. The only thing you need is an account, which is free to get by going to the neopets website.

Daily Freebies - December Only

Visit the Advent calander once a day everyday in December for free virtual items and neopoints.

Neopets Neopoint Dailies

The neopets world has many daily activities that can give you items or neopoints for free. The ones listed below will give you neopoints.
Rich Slorg at Shop of Offers
The rich slorg will give you neopoints when you click on it. I usually get 50 to 100 neopoints. This link will take you to the payout page.
Daily Puzzle
If you answer the daily puzzle correctly you will get some neopoints and sometimes an item.
The National Neopian Bank
If you put some neopoints into the bank you will earn interest. The amount you earn varies on the amount that you have in it. You have to collect your interest daily to earn it and you have to collect it before putting neopoints in or taking any out. You can collect your interest once a day, everyday. Your neopoints are also safe in the bank from wandering ghosts that may steal your neopoints.
Potato Counter
Count the potatoes for neopoints. You can do this up to three times a day.

Dailies that give you food.

Some of these always give food and others usually give you food items, but can give you other items or neopoints too.
Giant Jelly
The giant jelly gives you a jelly item once a day. Most jellies are worth 2 feedings.
Giant Omelette
The giant omelette gives you an omelette once a day. It is worth three feedings per omelette.
Fishing Vortex
The fishing vortex allows you to take each of your pets fishing. You may or may not get an item when you go. Many of the items are junk, but you can get food and books from the vortex also.
The Fruit Machine
The fruit machine gives you neopoints and an item randomly once a day.
Grumpy King
This is similar to the wise king, except here you tell him a joke. If he likes it you get an item, usually a food, and/or some neopoints. What you say makes no difference, it is random.

Dailies that could harm your pet

These are things that you can do that may give you an item or neopoints, but could also injure your pet.
Deserted Tomb
The deserted tomb can give you an item and/or neopoints, but it can also hurt your pet.
Qasalan Expellibox
The Qasalan Expellibox can give you items, neopoints, neocash, an illness, or nothing at all. It is completely random, like the game plinko.
The Snowager
If you go to the snowager when it is asleep, at 6-7am, 2-3pm, or 10-11pm NST, you may get an item. The snowager can also hurt your pet if you wake it.

More Dailies

These dailies can heal your pet, give you items or neopoints.
Healing Faerie
The Healing Faerie will heal your pet, or give you an item. The item is usually a healing potion or snowball. You can visit her once every half hour.
Meteor
The meteor will give you an item once a day. You may need to go back more than once a day before it gives you anything and can only visit it once an hour.
Lunar Temple
The lunar temple will give you a prize for guessing the stage the moon is in. You get a prize whether you are right or not.
Turmaculus
Your petpet can try once an hour to wake the Turmaculus up. If he wakes up he may give you a prize, an item, experience, neopoints, petpet level up, or he may eat your petpet. If he eats your petpet you will get an avatar. He is only up once a day. See the bottom of this page for a link to the wake times of Turmaculus.
Symol Hole
You can send your petpet down the symol hole and it may come back with an item or neopoints. It is random and very rare for the petpet to come out with something.
Wise King
You tell the king something and if he likes what he hears he will give you an item, usually a book. What you say makes no difference, it is random.
Petpet park
I've gotten books, toys, food and neopoints from this one.
Coltzan's Shrine
Coltzan's Shrine gives items, neopoints, experience, or nothing once a day.
Tombola
Tombola draws a number and if it is a 0, 2, or 5, you win. The value of the prize varies and it is completely random whether you win or not.
Buried Treasure
Here you pick a spot on the map and see if you won something or not. It costs 300NP and can be played once every 3 hours.

Scratchcards

You can scratch up to five scatchcards a day. The prizes vary in amount and you could also win nothing.
Lost Desert Scratchcard Kiosk
These cost 500 NP and you can buy one every four hours.
Ice Caves Scratchcard Kiosk
These cost 600 NP and you can buy one every six hours.
Deserted Fairground Scratchcards
These cost 1200 NP and you can buy one every two hours.

Spin the Wheel!

Spin the wheel and see what you win! Could be nothing, it could harm your pet, but it could be abilities, items, or neopoints.! Prizes depend on the wheel spun.
Wheel of Excitement
This costs 150NP per spin and can be spun once every 2 hours.
Wheel of Knowledge
The wheel of knowledge costs 500 NP and can be played once a day.
Wheel of Mediocrity
This one is only 50 NP and can be played every half hour.
Wheel of Monotony
This can be played once a day and is 100 NP. It does take a while to finish spinning, hence the name monotony. The shortest it has ever spun for me is 30 minutes, and the longest was about 2 hours. You won't get your prize if the window is closed or you log out before it stops spinning.

Monthly Freebie

Monthly freebie
This will get you 2,000NP. It also gives you a food item per pet you have. Can only collect once a month.

Games

Games are the main way of making neopoints on neopets. You should always play the featured game of the day, it gives you double neopoints for each score sent, up to 3. Also, visit my other lense, My favorite Neopets games for some links to the games I like best. There is a variety of games to play and the best advice I can give is to play the games until you know which ones you can reach the score needed for 1000 NP easily. Once you know which games those are, you play those first and then any others that you want to play.

Reselling items in your shop

Many people make neopoints by selling and reselling items in their shop. There is risk with reselling items, since the price can drop after you buy it and then you are either stuck with the item or you lose the neopoints on it. A few things that can help prevent you from losing the neopoints is to sell your prizes from the daily activities. Many of these aren't worth much and are slow sellers. Another thing is that most of the Neopets shops have a half price day on the 3rd of every month. You still need to be carefull because some of these shops are still over priced on that day. You also need a fast connection or everything will be sold before you have a chance to buy it. The best way to make money on reselling is to watch the Shop Ads board for 1 NP sales. Again, you will need a fast connection for this to work well, the items go fast if they are good. Another way people make money with reselling is by using the shop wizard and buying the lowest priced item and selling it higher. The only thing here is that you need to know the name of the object you want to resell.
