Nerf Maverick REV-6

The Maverick is a small, easy to use sidearm style launcher with a revolving barrel that can be flipped partway out to facilitate loading.

The launcher fires 6 suction cup darts and features a top sliding re-cocking mechanism. It's not as fast to reload as a clip based system, but it's got a lot of power and a fair amount of accuracy in the short to medium range.

The N-Strike Maverick is most people's introduction to Nerf guns these days. It came out a few years ago and has since only really changed in color from blue to yellow (and there's a clear one available too). Overall, it's a very nice launcher and effectively the bread and butter of the N-Strike line.

Easy to fire, pretty good power and accuracy, and the revolving barrel all lend themselves to a pretty good launcher and an even more fun toy.

There is a slight downside to the launcher and it has to do more with decay over time than anything else. Because the barrel is revolving, if a dart comes loose it can jam the launcher. Also, firing it too fast can cause misfires due to the barrel not moving fast enough. All in all though, it's well worth the money paid for it. More reviews...

Beyond the obvious choking hazard, this launcher is a pretty decent toy for most kids. The one point against in this arena is that the re-cocking mechanism can be a bit too hard for someone younger, but if they can pull back the slier, then they should be fine.

Beyond that, you may want to stock up on darts as undoubtedly some will get lost. Great to give as a gift, it won't ruin anyones day and there's a reason it's the most popular launcher in the lineup. More reviews...

The Maverick is a great first strike weapon as well as an excellent last resort defense. It's up to you to choose the role, but excellent range and power give you an edge in a cube war. It can be moderately concealed and fired rapidly.

People all over the place choose this as their first launcher because suction cup darts + flat surfaces = win. You're just as likely to see a Maverick in a dorm room as you are in an IT office. My only word of advice here is to make sure you have extra darts, and maybe even an extra launcher. The Maverick makes a great backup, but it's still only 6 shots. More reviews...
