The Nerf N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 Launcher

The Vulcan is a 25 dart belt fed launcher capable of 3 round-per-second automatic fire or single shot bolt action manual firing. This is the launcher that sends people for the hills. On this lens we'll cover the basics of the launcher and review how it fares in general, for office warfare, and as a kids toy.

The Launcher In Detail

Summary & Specifications

The Vulcan is the Nerf equivalent of a 50-cal. It boasts a side loaded belt feed capable of running through 25 rounds. The launcher can fire in both an automatic mode as well as a manual mode with the former firing 3 round per second. This of course requires batteries, 6 D batteries to be exact, so this launcher has some added heft to it.

The Vulcan comes with a tripod to help handle the additional weight, otherwise, it's a fairly non-customizable system. It is one of the most intimidating launchers in the Nerf arsenal though.

General Review

The Nerf Equivalent of a 50-Cal

The Nerf Vulcan is one of those launchers you would picture Rambo using, if he had to use a Nerf gun of course. The Vulcan's big number has to do with the automatic fire. It's Nerf's first attempt to achieve a fully automatic fire in a launcher and it's very quaint. This thing does run through a belt pretty fast.

While I haven't run into any major quality issues, some of the other reviews have mention breaking the advancing mechanism in the launcher by pulling the belt too hard. Take that as a warning if you go to get this, it's far too heavy anyways to be a great kids toy.

It's still a lot of fun though and the look on people's faces when you pull it out will make the purchase of this launcher worth every penny. More reviews...

Kids Toy Review

Ages 8-12

There are a couple issues that keep this from being a really kid friendly toy. The first is the weight of the launcher when it's got a battery pack. Unless your kid has been lifting weights, this is simply going to be too much gun for them. Sure you can use the tripod, but let's be honest, who really wants to use a tripod when attempting to recreate movie scenes? Hmm?

The second issue is the advancing mechanism. If it breaks, it's all over for the launcher. Kids are rough on this sort of stuff, so it might be best to give it to a kid who has a developed sense of not breaking their toys. Good luck finding one. More reviews...

Office Warfare Review

The Room Clearer

Where the Vulcan fails as a kids toy, it whines when it comes to office warfare. Simply point and shoot this thing to clear out a room or cubicle. The belt loading isn't too complicated and as long as you don't break the thing, it's going to cause quite a stir.

And let's not forget the sheer intimidation factor of pointing this at someone holding something like a Nite Finder or Maverick. Sure, it's heavy, but it's a ton of fun. More reviews...
