How to Beat Mega Man 1
In 1987, Capcom delivered one of the greatest games ever to the Nintendo Entertainment System by creating Mega Man. Known as "Rock Man" in Japan, the game would go on to spawn several sequels. Mega Man was Capcom's first game designed specifically for the home console market, after previously focusing on arcade titles such as Commando, Ghosts 'N Goblins, and Street Fighter.
For the era this game was made and using only 8-bit capabilities, Mega Man pushed the limits with crisp graphics, catchy music, and flawless gameplay. The graphics have an anime-feel to them, the enemies are vast, and the Robot Masters Mega Man sets out to destroy are of all shapes and sizes. There are only two flaws with the game if you play it on the original Nintendo Entertainment System. One, there are no passwords and you can't save your game. And two, the North American box cover art is well-documented as the worst of all time.

Fight, Mega Man! For Everlasting Peace!
IGN has Mega Man ranked 30th in their list of the 100 NES Games of All Time. I wonder if the game would have been ranked higher if not for the amazingly difficult gameplay. I don't think I could have beaten this game without the aid of rapidly pressing select when my weapon connected with a Robot Master or Dr. Wily. More on this nifty little trick later. - NES Mega Man Video Walkthrough Guide

Mega Man Plot
In the year 20XX in Monsteropolis, Dr. Light and his assistant Dr. Wily created the humanoid robot Mega Man, as well as six other specialized robots to help serve mankind. Feeling slighted or unappreciated, Dr. Wily reprograms six robots (Bomb Man, Fire Man, Ice Man, Elec Man, Guts Man, and Cut Man) to aid his effort to take over the world. Dr. Light counters by reprogramming Mega Man to help defend the world and destroy Dr. Wily and his Robot Master minions. The Blue Bomber and His Trusty Mega Blaster
Mega Man is equipped with a Mega Blaster and there are six stages for him to clear, with each stage having a Robot Master to defeat at the end. After clearing a Robot Master stage, you will receive his weapon that you can use the rest of the game, provided you keep the weapon gauge full by replenishing it with energy pellets. The game is non-linear, and you are free to choose whichever stage you want to defeat the Robot Masters and reach Dr. Wily's fortress. However, it is beneficial to complete the stages in a certain order, which I have detailed below, so you can use a fallen Robot Master's weapon on your next foe. Use This Guide to Beat One of the Best Old School Nintendo Video Games
Once you have cleared the six Robot Master stages, you will enter Dr. Wily's fortress. Inside, you will pass through four more daunting stages until the climatic battle with Dr. Wily. Good luck! - Great walkthrough of Mega Man 1! This game was kind of hard to find back in the 80's. MM2 was much easier to find on store shelves (in my neck of the woods anyway). Lensrolled this to my Mega Man games lens. Nice work, Squid Angel blessed!

- Thank you. I played Mega Man 2 and 3 before the first one. For some reason, nobody had that game. Of all the Nintendo Franchises, Mega Man might be my favorite because of the great replay ability.
