Practical and Basic Accessories to Bring the Best Out of any Netbook

My lens in choosing the best Netbook has really helped me decide on what to buy if if that means not eating for the next 2 weeks. Hahahaha!!! Now that I have chosen a Netbook. I proceeded in researching the best accessories to make the most of my Netbook. That means finding the right accessories to compensate for the shortcomings shortcomings of the netbook.

It is good practice to know what exactly you want to buy before hitting the stores. Unless money is not a problem, I suggest following my advice.

I've categorized the type of accessories I'm going to need. A Netbook would do just fine. But if you can improve it... why not? So lets beautify our Netbooks and put to shame Notebooks.

Improving the Keyboard

....netbooks have really small keyboards.

All netbooks have limited keyboard or keypad real estate. What can you expect from such a small computer. Users who have been accustomed to full size keyboards would really have a hard time adjusting to the smalley layout in Netbooks. I tried typing "A fox jumped...." to several of the Netbooks I tested in stores and I really had to bunch my hands to type effectively.

But that doesn't mean you'll have to live with it even if you can. There are lots of keyboard accessories out there that are compatible with Netbooks. Here are the ones I shortlisted for myself. They passed my usefullness-meter with flying colors. :-) I hope they also pass yours.

This cool setup is quite bulky but it does make a pseudo desktop out of your Netbook. Cool right? No more worries about strained wrists, carpal tunnel syndrome... For sure your productivity will increase tenfold with this Netbook Stand.

Netbooks do not have optical drives. It makes you wonder why with all the slim dvd drives... not one netbook has one. Have you thought about that? I'm inclined to think that this could be another marketing strategy agreed upon by the powers that be. It may go something like this "If you want to get a huge discount for our bug-free operating system then we order you not to add any optical drives to your Netbooks. Capish!!". Just a thought though. But it does make one wonder.

Netbooks come with those pesky and bulky power adpators. This can be quite irritating when brought to a coffee shop. But knsington as created a cool power adaptor for netbooks that makes the power adaptor seem part of the laptop. As a plus... this power adpator has its own usb port which you can use for charging your other usb gadgets. Cool huh!

Next is the Targus thermal cooler. Although Netbooks use very low voltage. They do heat up sometimes when connected to the wall power outloet for prolonged times. This often heats up the Netbook that can cause damage to its motherboard and processor. Protect you investment by dissipating the heat with a thermal cooler.
