The indispensable net curtain hangs ever so gracefully on your used-to-be-boring window. The wind breezes through it and fills the room with illuminated sunrays. We all know this part. We have all been fascinated by all its designs and picked and bought our favorites in stores or through online shopping. But as I was browsing through the different articles about net curtains, I came across the idea of actually making them as clothes! And I did!

My fascination of the intricate and detailed designs of the net curtains started when my mother bought one online. Since the windows in our house are huge, she had to purchase more than what she needed. She bought this design called Wallflower Net Curtain and after she was done hanging them, I asked for the spare curtains and proceeded to my workshop. This is where the magic happened. I was amazed to see how easily you can separate the patterns. So I cut them and tried sewing it on one of my old pair of jeans. I sew using threads that contrast their colors. When I was happy with the design, I wore them in school and voila, everybody loved them.

I went a little crazy and tried designing different blouses and skirts. I was happy with the designs so I started making them. I was still using the spare net curtain from my mother but I think it also worked for me because they all looked like they were bought as a set. So I proudly wore them again in school and the appreciation I got from my school professors, classmates and friends gave me the idea of taking it seriously and consider making a business out of it.

I am now purchasing online and going to thrift stores to purchase these superb net curtains which are so cheap I am getting as much as 150% returns on my investments. The orders are overwhelming that I had to ask them to stop. It is such a surprise that this venture started out as a crazy idea but turned out to be something even huge that my pay checks!

I can now proudly tell you that last week I have made my first $20,000 out of sewing blouses and dresses and skirts and jeans and other fashion items using these net curtains. But I am not telling you to bring them down and cut them, please don't do that! Just find inspiration on what more you can do with some of them after you have used them. Who knows, you might also end up turning a crazy idea into a business.
