Need a Netflix Mobile Device?

When Netflix started out, they delivered rented DVDs to your door within a day or two of requesting them online. It was convenient. Then they added a "Watch Instantly" feature that allowed users to stream some of their Netflix movies to their computer.

Later, the service took a step forward when Netflix players hit the market, allowing subscribers of the service to stream Netflix movies to TV directly. Now there are many dozens of Netflix Blu-Ray players, set top boxes, internet connected televisions, and more that give subscribers this capability. Beginning in 2010, Netflix mobile devices began to emerge, allowing users to enjoy their movies and TV shows on portable devices wherever they are.

The number of mobile devices that allow you to stream Netflix content is gradually increasing. On this page you can find out what the options are for getting this capability.

About Streaming Netflix on Mobile Devices

If you want to stream Netflix movies and TV shows to a mobile phone, tablet, handheld gaming device or any portable device, you have to subscribe to the Netflix service (which you can do at this link).

Netflix plans affordable and give you access to the full library of movies and TV shows. The plans allow you to rent DVDs through the mail and stream movies online, either to your PC, to your TV, or on your Netflix mobile device. There is a "streaming only" option that costs $7.99, but the number of titles available via streaming is less than the entire library.

The mobile phones that stream Netflix movies require an application that provides this capability. The applications are generally free, and available through the marketplace associated with that device if it doesn't come pre-installed. For instance, the Netflix application for the iPhone is available at iTunes. The applications can vary as far as what functionality they provide beyond viewing movies on the Netflix site.

We will give you a look at how some of these applications function below.

There are now many mobile phones from the iPhone to Android and even Windows phones that can act as Netflix mobile devices. Tablets too are adding this function.
