Okay, so there's a financial crisis. The credit industry is in trouble. The automakers are in trouble. State governments all over the U. S. are in trouble. Everyone agrees that the final solution is increased consumer spending.

The research staff at eMarketer.com have combined projections from several business sources to provide you and me with a glimpse into the future. The chart, published in November 2008, should give us cause for hope and, even, a little excitement as we look forward.

Three advertising areas leap from the chart to virtually slap us in the face. Search advertising spending is expected to GROW from over $10.6 billion in 2008 to $12.2 billion in 2009, $13.8 billion in 2010, $15.5 billion in 2011 and is projected to hit $19.5 billion by 2013. That is almost double over the next five years.

In other words, you need to be more agressive with Google Adsense and other paid search programs as a means to generate commissions for your home business.

Likewise, use of video ads is expected to leap from $587 million in 2008 to a whopping $4.6 billion in 2013. Rich media makes an equally impressive leap from $1.8 billion in 2008 to $3.3 billion in 2013.

What Does All This Mean to You

Writing more good content optimized for search engines with Adsense units included is essential for your business growth.

Getting more traffic to your website should be another priority on your list. Content without traffic does not bump your bottom line.

Hi, I'm Larry. Beth and I made some serious plans in 2003 and on July 15, I walked away from my supervisory position with Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

Sometimes we limit our brain functions by following the guidelines of everyone else when it comes to marketing.

Every once in awhile we should get outside the box and try something new. I was reminded of this recently when my youngest son took off early one morning and drove to an out-of-town Country Club.

But...he didn't take his golf clubs.

He knew there was a 5-acre pond in the middle of the golf course, and he imagined that very few people actually went to a Country Club to fish?!?
