It is definitely a simple business right? All you need to do is show the network marketing products and the business opportunity to others right? Prospecting is easy right? We, in the network marketing business know it's not!

The reason why the term prospecting was attached to network marketing opportunities is because it's like actually Prospecting Gold. You get your hands dirty and your legs dipped in mud before you see the glitter.

This is what I mean about gold prospecting. A gold prospecting business goes through a process of finding a gold mine usually in an unsuspected area, digging dirt and mud for hours or days. Then, sifting and sorting gold dust is done. The dust undergoes smelting and further refining. Then, it is created to fine jewelries. After selling, you make a lot of money.

A similar process happens in network marketing lead generation. You look for a perfect place for prospecting people usually in an unsuspected area, Targeting people to talk to for some time or even hours per day. Then, you do sifting and sorting keeping the ones who have potential in the network marketing industry. Then, you start recruiting and distributing them in your organization. You do your best to train and support them. You create leaders out of them. You teach them how to duplicate you so they can earn passive residual income. After their success, you make a lot of money.

Now tell me, is that easy? No! So what is the secret?

There is actually no real secret in generating network marketing leads. It only becomes a secret because people make them unseen by not doing the "Simple" things. These are the following:

1. Persevere - Do not stop trying. Just try talking to as much people as you can. By trying you become better. Then, you get good in creating more leads.

2. Be consistent - You were advised not to "re-invent the wheel". Everything was done for you to follow. It's a turnkey opportunity like McDonalds - you don't have to be a genius to take orders.

3. Never procrastinate - If you have invested time in your network marketing business, do not stop. Even if you went to the jungle for a vacation, there is always somebody to show your passive income opportunity.

4. Keep motivating yourself - Your mentors is not always there to hold your hand. You have to learn how to motivate yourself by audio or video. When you're in a place with a lot of people and you are shy, listen to your earpiece for motivational audio. You will be surprised to be able to talk confidently.

5. Be organized - Have a journal. You can't always remember the names that you meet and their phone numbers. Even professional network marketers have their own list.

6. Extend online - Join Facebook or Myspace for some social network marketing. You will gain more trust with friends you build in the internet. Take note that online network marketing one of the best ways to generate leads because your market is around the world!

7. Focus on helping - If your mind is full of money, you probably won't get enough leads. Your goal is to help people who want more in life. They will see that in your eyes if you really want to help.

If you are an active network marketer, you will admit that prospecting and generating leads is not that painless. As you approach people, most of them will say: "It's not my cup of tea" or "I don't have any money" or "I have no background in selling" or worse "It's a scam"!

And even if you finally recruit one (1 out of 10 correct?), you don't know if that one will take it seriously. Most will quit after 6 or 12 months... By the way quitting for me is the same as being idle on the business.

So accept that network marketing is simple but not easy. This is also true in other business right? There is no such thing as easy money in a legitimate business.
