A Review of Network Marketing, Renegade University and Marketing Merge

The purpose of this lens is to explain, review and encourage anyone who reads it to learn more about Network Marketing, Renegade University and Marketing Merge.

Why? I want to do this because I believe there is a need for it.

There are a huge number of folks interested and really looking for a home based business they can have that will help them meet their bills every month and if they work hard, can help them achieve an income they never thought possible. But, they hear scary stories of scams, schemes and horror experiences that cause them to avoid pursuing their dreams.

Plus, they also hear that there is no one who will help them, they're on their own, no matter what they decide.

I see the need to review network marketing as a business because there are many misconceptions and a lot of miss-information being tossed around.

I want to approach this in an objective manner even though I myself am in a network marketing business. Promoting my network marketing business is NOT the purpose of this lens.

Making some good information available is.

If this review interests you, please read on. If not, thanks for stopping by and maybe I'll be writing on a topic in the future that will ring your bell.

So, let's get started.

Network Marketing Review: What It Is

The Truth About Network Marketing

Network Marketing is a method of distributing products.

Someone, in their infinite wisdom figured out over 50 years ago, that it was expensive to advertise, which cut into profits. They had to find a way to promote their products without having to advertise because advertising is very, very expensive with questionable results in many cases.

Advertising is Expensive

Just to give you an idea of how expensive it is, one of the leading cosmetic companies spends BILLIONS of dollars each year in advertising!

Think of the amount of product they have to sell every year just to cover those costs!

Yet, what do you think is the best form of advertising? It's 'word of mouth'.

Word of Mouth is the Best Form of Advertising

Who would you believe the most, some high paid celebrity (who probably has never used the product) tell you how great this skin cream is, or a friend who has used it and tells you of their experience with it?

Have you ever recommended a hair dresser, a doctor or a product to a friend because you were excited about it or thought it would help them?

Of course you have and I bet in most cases they gave it a try because you suggested it to them.

Ok, so now they want to move their products, and don't want to have to advertise, so how do they do that? You guessed it; 'Word of Mouth'. But there is a catch.

How can they get people to go around and promote their products by word of mouth? What's in it for them?

Mind you, we're not talking about one or two people walking around and telling a few people here and there about their products.

We're talking thousands, if not millions of people doing it. So, how can they accomplish this? They pay them! What a concept!

Compensation Plans Are How Network Marketing Entrepreneurs Get Paid

The next step would have been how to help these people promote their products, paying them in such a way as to keep them promoting, keeping them loyal and make a profit as well.

The answer came in what they call 'compensation plans'. In other words, compensation plans are how you get paid in a network marketing organization.

They figured out that with the money they saved in advertising, they could afford a generous compensation plan AND put money back into research and development so they always maintain high quality (most often higher quality than found in stores), work on developing new products and make a profit.

This, in a nutshell is what network marketing is. A method of product distribution.

Network Marketing Benefits

The benefits to the folks who participate in a include the ability to work for themselves, work from home, spend more time with the family, and have unlimited income potential.

Plus, when done correctly, can continue to provide residual income for years to come.

Ok, So If Network Marketing Is So Wonderful, How Come Everyone Isn't Doing It?

Excellent question. You are very smart!

The answer has many parts. The first one is... is simple, but it's not easy. How many people do you know who are successful in whatever business or field they are in without working hard?

Many people go into a network marketing business believing that success and money will flow in effortlessly and quickly. When it doesn't of course it's not their fault, it must be because the business model doesn't work. Most people look at problems as being 'outside themselves' rather than within.

isn't for everyone, just like being a top athlete or CEO of a company isn't either. But, it's easier to become successful in network marketing than just about anything else.

Most people quit, give up on their dreams because it wasn't as easy as they thought.

Successful people are people who are willing to do what unsuccessful people won't!

Keep that in mind no matter what business you are in.

Some other problems with network marketing include companies that don't support their members or who aren't in it for the long run.

There are disreputable network marketing companies just as there are in any business. But you soon learn what the good ones are and there are quite a few, so you aren't limited in choice.

Next: What Network Marketing Isn't

It isn't a 'Get Rich Quick Scheme'. As stated in the previous article, it takes effort, work and a lot of fun to build a successful business.

It's NOT a Pyramid Scam. The term pyramid scam or scheme gets thrown around a lot and mostly from people who don't know what they are talking about.

Pyramid Schemes Are Illegal

First and foremost, Pyramid Scams are illegal and network marketing is not. So right off the bat this should tell you something.

The term pyramid has been used to describe a business where the person at the top of the business (think CEO or president) makes more money than those below him in the business.

How many business models can you think of that don't fit this criteria?

The owner of the grocery store makes more money than the store manager who makes more than the person at the register and so on.

The president or owner of the company you currently work for, earns more than anyone else in the company, right? So this makes just about any business or company on the planet a pyramid in design and but not a scam.

A may be in the shape of a pyramid in as much as you are at the top of your business and people who join you are below you (on paper only), but someone at the bottom of your business pyramid can earn more money than you who sits at the top.

In other words, someone might join your business who works harder and because of this their earnings can far surpass yours, even if they are below you in the structure.
Does it get more fair than this?

A Pyramid Scam and a Ponzi Scam are pretty much the same thing. These are illegal and just today I was reading about someone getting a jail term of 170 years( yes, you read that right) for promoting a huge Ponzi scam and duping over 1800 people of their hard earned money.

Simply put, a pyramid scheme or Ponzi (named after Charles Ponzi who started this type of illegal enterprise in 1920), are designed in such a way as to use the fees paid by the new members who join the business, to pay members who joined earlier, making it look like everyone can make money in it. They are often duped into believing they are making an investment and will be earning very high returns.

In other words, membership dues from one person are used to pay the head of the scheme with a bit going to members who joined earlier. Ultimately, what happens is that the dwindling number of new members fees can't support the payments due to existing members and the whole thing falls apart.

So, how do they get people to join these things? They entice them with a promise of a high return on their initial investment. In most cases there is never a real product to promote or valuable service to be performed.

The old 'chain letter' was a form of Ponzi or Pyramid scheme. You may remember getting one. They tell you that all you have to do is send $xx.xx to the person at the top of the list and put your name at the bottom and by the time your name is at the top, money will be pouring out of your mailbox. You have no idea how many people have fallen for this one.

What drives it of course is the thought of quick and easy money. Bottom line-You lose.

Ok, so that tells you in simple terms what is and what it isn't.
Let's move on. Oh, by the way, even former President Bill Clinton endorses Network Marketing and you can watch the video here or below.

Renegade University: Why Talk About This?

To be honest I came across Renegade University from my upline in my network marketing business. He first introduced me to Ann Sieg and her book about the 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing". I already had the concept in my head about using the internet to help build my network marketing business but that was as far as it went because I was pretty much clueless as to how to do it. Ann Sieg's The Renegade Network Marketer System was the next huge step I took on my journey.

Well, the truth is I had already read a huge number of books about network marketing, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, personal development and taken just about as many courses both free and paid to still come out of it all feeling as though something was missing. Included in these were books by Mark Yarnell, Napolean Hill, Robert Kiyosaki, and Christopher Howard of NLP fame.

Then came Ann Seig and Mike Dillard just to name a couple more. I wanted to build my network marketing business and learn how to use the internet to do it. Plus, if there were other ways I could create additional cash flow streams, then I wanted that too.

Now, I'm just like many people out there in the big wide world who are willing to learn and do what it takes to become a success at whatever we choose to do. But, I do like to have instructions and 'how to' to get something done. In the majority of the books I've read and the courses I've taken, they tell you what you need to do but not 'how to' do it. That means a huge amount of research, trial and error, spending lots of money to blindly move forward in the fast moving world of the internet.

Renegade University was the answer for me. Mike Klingler put it together to support those people like me who knew what had to be done but not a clue as to how to do it.
I couldn't afford to pay someone to sit next to me, hold my hand and guide me through it, but Mike's free Renegade University did just that. With Mike Klingler's tutorials and webinars, learning internet attraction marketing has been an eye opening experience.

After following the tutorials provided in Renegade University, I knew I wanted more. I wanted to learn all I could about attraction marketing and how it could help me in my network marketing business.

Next: Marketing Merge

What an appropriate name: Marketing Merge. Combine (merge) network marketing, internet marketing, affiliate marketing and attraction marketing and you get "Marketing Merge".

Therein lies the secret to building not just a network marketing business but any business on the internet. It's 'attraction marketing'.

Marketing Merge which is the professional level beyond Renegade University, provides a library full of tutorials, webinars and resources that take you click by click through what you need to do to be successful in this business. There is a small membership monthly fee for this but a pittance compared to what you get out of it.

It doesn't do the work for you-you'd have to pay an arm and a leg to have someone do the work for you , plus at the end of the day what have you achieved for yourself? Nada, zilch, zippity-doodah!

You can take a huge amount of pleasure from learning and achieving yourself. And all the way you never feel alone and unsupported.

Now is this for everyone? No, it's not. Just like isn't for everyone. But, can everyone benefit from it? Absolutely. I certainly have.

Also, there's one other thing to consider. As in many things in life, "it's not always about you".

In other words, if you're already in a network marketing business and know what you're doing when it comes to using the internet to build your business, think about those who you bring onboard and what their ability level might be. Can you teach them what they need to know? Do you have the knowledge, willingness or the time to do it?

If you're in affiliate marketing. Do you have the time and ability to teach others what you're doing? Think outside the square and beyond yourself. Think about how Renegade University and Marketing Merge can help more than just yourself to build your business.

In order to do this, you have to know what is taught in and Marketing Merge yourself. Then think about how it could benefit members of your current and future team who aren't as knowledgeable as you are. Unless you are 'duplicatable' and we know you aren't, you have to have a teaching system that is.

Network Marketing, Renegade University, Marketing Merge:Review, Reflect And Learn

This is what it's all about. Think about the big picture, where your business is and where it's going vs. where you want it to go. Reflect and learn and then pass the learnings on. We're all on the same team at the end of the day and we can all learn and benefit from each other. Be willing to give and to share, be humble and honest and you and your business will grow beyond measure.
