GoDaddy one of the first things you want to do is get a domain name. Your own name is a great place to start. You don't need a web-site to get started! Just start here with your name as a domain name. You can then learn to forward it preferably to a blog but also to your lead capture page. If people have no way of contacting you they will simply go elsewhere. People want to get to know you before they click on your lead capture page. To learn how to create a web-page in an hour or two check out The 90 Day Marketer. Understand if you are looking for just a forwarding domain, you do not need any of the extras they offer. When you purchase a domain name it comes with 99 sub-domain names that you can also use without having to purchase another domain name. Your domain name comes with free products like email and a blog. It is much more professional to have an email address of: your first name @ yourfirstandlastname.com. You can then purchase web-hosting once your site is ready. You don't need all the bells and whistles at this point. Buy several domain names as you have clever ideas. It's only $10 for the year and a few weeks from now you will have a much better perspective of which direction you want to go. GoDaddy has excellent customer support and can help you with your business needs.

Send Out Cards is another affiliate link that I strongly recommend. This is another great tool for following up with your downline. Stop sending emails that never get opened or read! I finally realized that emails are very ineffective.

To stay a STEP ABOVE OUR COMPETITION, we MUST bring that personal touch back into our client relationships! Send a greeting card, personalize it using your very own handwriting font, include your photo and simply appreciate those around you. I recently sent a birthday card to one of my downline--see image. Her husband is a radio announcer so I was able to go online and find a picture of her and her husband with Regis Philbin and his wife which I uploaded into the card along with a picture of myself, my favorite Maya Angelou quote in roundhand font, my message in my handwriting and a Starbucks gift card. She phoned me up to thank me and to say that that was the most personal card she had ever received! And she invited me to go for coffee with her gift card. It was great to have a downline call me for a change!

Think about this a moment, just sending a thank you, recognizing a birthday or special occasion, congratulating a client or business builder....this is what will continue your relationships AND keep you a step ahead the rest. I don't know about you, but I certainly used to have a challenge keeping up with my clients and downline, let alone sending a note or card to each of them every month.

This in NOT an e-card, it is a physical card sent through the postal service worldwide. Personal or business use, send a single card or a group of 2,000 cards within 60 seconds. Set up campaigns and
preset dates if you wish; just like you would with an auto-responder; in fact I combine the 2. Choose from over 13,000 pre-made cards or customize your own with or without a photo upload. The price of the cards ranges from .31 cents up to $1.47, per card.

This is the first network marketing company that I have come across in which the product is much cheaper than you can buy at the store! Not to mention the time savings! In the past you would think of someone that you should send a card to; get in your car, go to the mall, select a card, and then if you're like my husband come home and get the address and stamp and then go back out and mail it! LOL. With the price of gas and time being a commodity this system just makes $ense.

So stop shoulding on yourself! Even if you don't want to join as an entrepreneur the wholesale package offers excellent value. Package registrations range from $25 - $398. If your marketing dollars permit, I would recommend the Entrepreneur Package at $398 (just a couple referrals and it would pay for itself). That way you can take advantage of discount pricing, handwriting fonts, photo uploads and picture plus features, plus you earn commissions on anyone you refer into SendOutCards.

Another reason to sign up is, is because Ann Sieg is very big on multiple streams of income, a concept taught in The Renegade and because SendOutCards is also one of the affiliates located in the Renegade back office; if you ever pass on your Renegade link and someone purchases the Renegade from you - and you are not at the Entrepreneur level - any sale that comes in, would roll up to the next person. Also as an affiliate a sign up can sometimes happen automatically, so you could very well receive a bonus without you ever doing anything. At a $120 per sign-up you can get in the black fast! When I signed up with Ann Sieg, she called to welcome me and this was the advice she gave me. Silly me; I didn't take that advice. In the meantime Tito Fuentes joined Ann Sieg's team in May and participated in the SOC 90 day challenge. He had 27 signups! It pays to be on Ann's Team; more on that below.

I want to emphasize this is not something to take away from your primary business. This is the best follow up tool I have ever seen. I keep my primary company on my back end; offline. This is a tool to get you in the black a.s.a.p. This is part of your funnel. The reason Ann Sieg chose this as her MLM is because it is complimentary to all MLM companies.

Why in the world would you just have one stream of income when you can have multiple streams of income? Oh I know, your upline cautioned you against that. If you are not seriously cashflowing after 2-3 years you may want to get different advice! But that's another article! I almost missed this opportunity because I was so entrenched in old school thinking. If you're riding a bike across the U.S (and it could be the best bike available) you still are not going to reach your destination as fast as if you were driving a car; even an old car. If your MLM won't 'let you' belong to more than one company I would take that as a serious red flag and reconsider my MLM.

I have to tell you coming from an offline system of spending $60/mo for motivational books and CDs I was blown away by the abundance provided at no extra charge. There is no competition and crossline work together simply because there are so many leads available there is no competition. Oprius Contact Manager/Auto-responder/Lead Capture Pages Oprius is one of my favorites! It is a contact management system specifically designed for network marketers combined with both an auto-responder and lead capture pages for you to design. 3 programs for the price of 1! It's $15.00/mo with a $3/mo affiliate.
It's color-coded which really appeals to a visual person like me. Follow-up has been my Achilles heel in the past. Now I can see at a glance every phone call, task, e-mail, calendar appointment or note I have with each contact! Each morning I can see what my tasks/phone calls/emails are for the day. Some of my auto-responder steps show up as a task with the option of skipping a step.

Now you may think you don't need an auto-responder but you do. If you are serious about taking your business online this is an absolute must. You will be kicking yourself when all of a sudden you have more leads than you can follow up with. The paradigm shift here is going from, finding a handful of people a month to a point where your content reaches critical mass and you get 20-30+ leads a day. What are you going to do? A little late to start writing emails for your auto-responder which is just a part of the system. You also have to import those names and sort them into groups and plans. Trust me you do forget who's who if you do not have an automated system in place.

You need, need, need this! AND...you need this now rather than later. I will say from experience, I was a bit stubborn and didn't see the real need for it in the beginning. Boy, did I pay a price! My lead calling came to a grinding halt. My follow up system that I had used in the past was completely ineffective for dealing with multiple leads.

Once you understand what's involved you recommend this right out the gate because it is SOOO much easier to START OFF with an auto-responder than it is to mess around with a huge conversion job down the road. Also, its online so if your computer crashes like mine did you are not out of business! I love the lead capture pages! Check mine out: Renegade Guidance and get some free stuff!

Regarding Outlook. It's great for your personal life but when you start generating tons of leads Outlook just doesn't cut it. I really didn't want to learn ACT and an auto-responder program simultaneously. Oprius came along at a very opportune time!

There are a couple of other auto-responders that I recommend which are also affiliate links. I use Oprius but I have aweber and iContact as affiliates because experienced people may already be using a customer retention program such as ACT and not need that part of Oprius. Having said that I know several very successful network marketers who are using both.

I haven't signed up for iContact other than as an affiliate but I may for the newsletter templates and the no double opt in features. Its $10/mo. It may not be that far in the distant future that all auto-responders system require the double opt-in. These companies have to keep up with the latest email laws which as individuals we may not even be aware of. Note: You can still sign up as an affiliate with iContact and aweber even if you aren't using them yourself.

Site Build It is one of the most popular and respected companies in internet marketing and has a version of their website development package designed specifically for network marketers. They also offer a lot of marketing tools with their product that you won't get with other similar programs. Go to
SBI Action Guide and read how it is the only all-in-one, site-brainstorming, building, hosting, marketing, step-by-step system of software tools that delivers.

Network Marketing starts with recruiting/lead generation. Generating leads is "made for the Net but trying to force offline methods, online is not the way to go about it. There's no need to push (i.e., chase cold calls/prospects) when you can motivate them to pull (i.e., they call you). Go to Site Build It Review

You NEED a personal website, company replicated sites DO NOT sites will NOT cut it. They do not bring traffic. Everyone I talk to tells the same story; the only traffic they get is people they have sent directly. The spiders that crawl all the internet content do not like duplicate content. They are always looking for fresh content.

Site Build It is amazing but HUGE!!! This service costs $299 per year. There are 10 modules called Day 1-10 which is a bit of a misnomer. Some 'days' will take days if not weeks. A lot of people start here but it's overwhelming to the beginner. SBI offers SBI Action Guide which is available to use regardless if you are signed up or not. Site Build It has excellent customer support to assist you along the way. Website and traffic generation...on this subject alone, you could spend several weeks and months. You will begin learning, researching, and building your own website to create traffic generation.

You need to have clarity when you decide on your web-site. When I started I didn't even know what a keyword was. Those words and phrases I was typing in on Google where actually keywords. Who knew? It is only when you look at information from the opposite end do you gain real understanding.

I took Mike Klingler's advice, only now after 11 months of blogging and article writing is he building his SBI site. Mike has built an email list of 20,000 people without a web-site. His blog which he openly admits is a mess combined with his web of content all over the internet has been more than enough to bring him more leads than he can possibly follow up with. If you don't have the net cast how are you going to get leads? As Jan Janzen, a very successful business coach discovered a web-site on its own doesn't cut it anymore.

As a side note: Site Build It is tricky for the affiliate thing; I've missed out on a couple of affiliates now just because they went to the site 1st on their own and SBI has a cookie system which links you to whoever you link to first no matter what. When you first venture onto the internet you click all over the place and don't understand the importance of affiliates. If someone has turned you on to something its nice to give them the benefit. Squarespace I recommend starting with a blog. A blog is a web-site. It started as an online journal but has evolved into much more than that. Mike Klingler of Renegade University recommends Squarespace. There are click by click tutorials on the Renegade University web-site. For as low as $6/mo And for a couple of dollars more you can remove the squarespace from your URL. I have abbreviated directions on my blog how to remove squarespace from your url so it looks professional.

New Conceptual Selling and How to Sell Network Marketing without fear, anxiety, or losing your friends! These are books I highly recommend so that you can learn to 'pull' people instead of 'push' them. New Conceptual Selling by Robert B. Miller and Stephen E. Heiman and How to Sell Network Marketing by Michael Oliver are excellent books to teach you how to become a solutions provider. This is a big shift for people. To be successful in network marketing you must learn the art of asking questions. Everyone loves to buy but they hate to be sold. If you come out of the gate pitching your deal your conversation will be over before it starts.

Pitching your opportunity to anybody and everybody that came within 3 feet of you is partly what tarnished the old model of network marketing. We must take responsibility for our actions to ensure the same thing doesn't happen online. The 3 foot rule applies to everyone you meet online; after all how far away is your computer screen? This being the case, we need to be very careful how we approach people. This is a much more sophisticated market and although they may looking to buy they most certainly don't want to hear a sales pitch.

Amazon is a great affiliate link. Now when you recommend a book to a friend and they purchase with your link; you get paid! I have mentioned this to people offline and they are amazed. Get amaz-on-ed now.

This is not an affiliate link but it is a reasonably priced program that you can buy. I believe Snagit8 is $39.95 and Snagit9 is $49.95. This is such a great tool for taking screen shots; a region or use the scroll down feature to capture the whole page.

When I take notes on a webinar I use snagit to capture the powerpoint slide and insert it immediately into my word doc. I add my own notes to this. This saves a great deal of time trying to copy notes as well as make your own.

Another great use is when you are trying to explain something to someone you can send an email to show exactly what you mean. It works great when you are sending consultation worksheets for example.
