How To Build Good Relationships With Good Questions For Your Direct Selling Business
Having your own business, it is all about building a relationship and trust with the people you meet and speak with.In Direct Selling especially if you are cold calling or buying leads you are wanting to build a relationship and trust with the person so you can offer the person your product or your opportunity.
When we join many of us are taught the FORM questions. Family, Occupation, Recreation, Money these a good questions. Learning to ask these questions does give us information, and helps to find out where the person is, what problems they may have, and what if they are looking for a solution.
When listening to the answers many have their minds somewhere else. Thinking "what will I ask next", or when can I introduce my business, or my product.
They are waiting to start talking themselves without really hearing the answers by asking more questions so they can find out what the person really is wanting.
Many people have a fear of the phone, or are nervous about asking too many questions and they usually miss several steps. After a few initial questions they suddenly start talking about their opportunity and inviting the person to to view a presentation.
When I first started in my company I was guilty of this myself. Recently I was shared some questions that are actually non threatening and show you are truely interested in the person.
The questions were shared by Bob Burg of Burg.com and they are the following.
How did you get your started in the whatever business?
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
What separates your company from your competition?
What advice would you give someone just starting in the whatever business?
What one thing would you do with your business if you knew you couldn't fail?
What significant changes have you seen take place in your profession through the years?
What do you see as the coming trends in the whatever business?
Describe the strangest or funniest incident you have ever experienced in your business?
What one sentence would you like people to use in describing the way you do business?
And the one Key Question that will set you apart from everyone else?
How can I know if someone I'm speaking to would be a good prospect for you?
You may end up going away from this conversation without even talking about your network marketing or MLM business to the other person. As you develop the relationship by following up and they get the feeling I know you, I like you, I trust you, they come to want to know more about you, what you do and how they can get involved and who they can tell.
This person may not end up in your business, but they may end up referring people to you, because they know through your knowledge, what you do, that you can help these people in their search.
Learning to build relationships first by giving, and not focusing on the selling you will get ahead faster.
Remeber and I have had this spoken to me many times by many different people "all things equal, people will do business with - and refer business to - those people they know, like and trust."
When speaking with new people or even your friends, take the focus off yourself and totally focus on giving them the opportunity to talk mostly about themselves.
The people who we find the most interesting are the ones who are interested in us.
How many times have you been talking to a person or friend and they suddenly cut in on your conversation, or change the subject. Or you have stopped in mid sentenance and they haven't even registered you have done so. This is a sure sign they haven't really been listening to you.
Learning to listen to what the other person is saying and focusing on them with all of your attention takes energy and time. However if you do give them your undivided attention your relationships will improve.

How To Ask Good Questions
What's The Best Thing That Happened To You Today In Your Direct Selling Business?
What's The Best Thing That Happened To You Today?
What did you think first?
How did you feel?
What did you start thinking?
How would you feel about me asking this question?
Would you feel good or special?
Would you be eager to tell me what the best thing that happened to you?
Imagine if you asked this question to your downline or family
What's the Best Thing That Happened To You Today? Would they start looking for the best thing that had happened to them in their life or their business.
How about their confidence and their feeling of empowerment?
Think how they would look for good aspects in their business, and how they could build on them. Instead of focusing on the negative effects in their Network Marketing and MLM business.
Asking the question to your team, How would they feel about you? What would your relationship be like with them?
What if one of your team members had a problem or facing some difficulties and they needed help.
What if you asked questions that were positive to help them find solutions. As well as building a relationship.
Here are some other good questions that were shared with me in regard to finding by Kurt and Patricia Wright.at www.clearpurpose.com
What's working?
Why is it working?
What about it, is working?
What elements are going to make it work?
If you are trying to find a solution here are some other questions
What would work ideally?
What would it be like ideally?
What's not yet working right?
What's yet not quite right?
What resources can I find to make it right?
Being in Network Marketing or MLM we all at sometime or other run into difficulties. We look to our uplines or sponsors to help us, because we feel they will have the answers.
I have had an experience where my upline told me that my Why is not big enough, and my Belief is not strong enough. She may or may not mean it, but she did disempowered me and left me with the feeling of unworthiness.
By asking questions that similar or like the ones that were shared with me and are listed below.
What's working?
Why is it working?
What about it, is working?
What elements are going to make it work?
Plus the others that were shared with me.
What would work ideally?
What would it be like ideally?
What's not yet working right?
What's yet not quite right?
What resources can I find to make it right?
What would these questions be like to your person that you are helping?
How would they feel?
Yes, they would have to think it through, but with positive questions you are building on a positive platform. As you ask each question you are building more and more on that positive platform, and it is expanding so that a solution will emerge.
May be not straight away but through some resource, a comment, somehting in the paper or magazine, in a forum, or email, landing on a website that you find the answer you are looking for.
Sometimes the answers are disguised, or hidden but they are there, if you are looking. If you are in a positive frame of mind they are usually a lot easier to spot.
You can also ask yourself this question What's the best thing that happened to me today? With questions like:
What's right about it?
What can I learn about this?
What is the message?
What's the value for me?
I actually took these questions and used them in a negative experience I had. Looking at that negative experience and asking the questions, What can I learn about this? What is the message? What's the value for me in this?
By focusing on the above questions I improved my state of mind, I found my energy rising and I felt positive. If I had continued to dwell on the negative situation, I would have felt more drained, more and more negative things would have happened and I would have ended up feeling really depressed. As well as I actually found a positive solution that I am now able to take into my work and start using and implementing in future situations. The example I shared I did learn some valuable lessons out of it.
The valuable lesson I learnt here is be positive and open to what comes your way. The saying when the student is ready the teacher will appear, I have found to be very true.

Network Marketing is an opportunity for real estate agents or sales people who are you experiencing difficult times in the downturn of the economy? Are You looking at paid work, JOB (Just Over Broke) so you have an income coming in? Have you considered taking your skills you have acquired and put them into a home base business like network marketing. There are many options available to have a home based business or working from home. The skills you have acquired in your real estate or sales profession will hold you in good stead as a network marketer.
Many Network Marketing companies have low start up costs which make it easier for you to get in. The good ones will give you full training , mentoring, and support you in a team environment and help you as you build your organisation.
If you are a, real estate agent, sales person insurance agent , or in similar professions you still require: a database, prospecting potential clients, buyers, vendors, customers.
These same skills you can bring to a network marketing business, you need your prospect list, and customer base. Some companies actually are internet based and not only do they have live presentations online, they also have training, mentoring, and special events and seminars as well, all online. They also have in the bigger cities and towns meetings that you can attend personally if you wish.
Many people shy away from network marketing for many reasons, but it has come of age. Even Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump endorse network marketing. The new form of network marketing is called attraction marketing. It teaches you to give value first and to build a relationship, which as an agent you do any way. As agents you are self employed and you run it as a business. Those business skills you have acquired you can now utilize them to your advantage and help build a residual income over time for yourself as you grow your own business, and still be able to claim the tax advantages of having a business.
I have been involved in the Real Estate industry for many years, mainly as a administrator but I have also been an agent as well. What I learnt in my network marketing business I was able to put those skills to use in the real estate industry.

The Renegade Network Marketer was written by Ann Sieg, and she explains how she struggled in her network marketing business. She followed all the training and advice. Spent thousands in attending semiars, training, leads
prospecting, going through her 100's names list so many times.
One of her Company seminars she went to one of the speakers got up and did a demonstration It was informative and Ann felt she could do this. She went home and practiced. Then started doing health seminars and learning as she went. Soon she had more and more people at her weekly health seminars, and she was selling products and attracting prospects.
In this book she outlines what Attraction marketing is about and the steps to go through. This book is also the recommended course book for The Renegade University
In The Renegade Network Marketer Ann outlines the concepts of attraction marketing, and how to provide information to your prospects. Its about them not you.
Ann also speaks about monitization and how to do this with the Renegade Network Marketer. Cash flow for Network Marketers is one of the biggest problems when you are first starting out in your network marketing opportunity. There are expenses like training materials, autoship, to name a couple.
