Much of selling something isn't about the product but the person who is selling it. People buy from people who they feel that they can trust. You can stay original by promoting yourself before the product, because there is no one out there like you. People love free stuff, and getting a deal makes us all feel good so include that in any promotional strategy.
Quality products will have people coming back for more, and increase the trust in your business. Repeat customers are very valuable because you have already earned their trust, now you just have to sell.
Provided you love what you are selling. People are sensitive and pick up on your energy, if you are not 100% committed to your product they will sense it. Truly serving other people is becoming a lost art.
Having the ability to place another's needs above the needs of your ego shows true self confidence. Soon Stuart joined him. They got a great price for the jeans and by thinking outside the box cut off the legs and sold them as jean shorts.
To summarize: For success be original, offer quality products or services, love what you are selling, and stay humble.
