Building your internet network marketing business doesn't have to be hard

About five years ago I decided to stay at home with my children and start my own business working from home. I went through a steep learning curve, enduring many set backs and struggles. That is until I discovered a step-by-step marketing system, which is helping me to succeed in my business.

My Story

As many people before me, I started to build network marketing business. That was about five years ago. I was told that it is not easy, but it is simple.

Well, if I only knew then, what I know now. But who hasn't said that before.

If I only knew how hard it would be, trying to find the right way to do network marketing business. I never looked for the easy way because I know that looking for the "easy way" is usually the hardest way of all.

Since I was totally new to this, I followed my up-line, my leaders' recommendations. I read personal development books, to the point that I felt guilty when I decided to read a novel book. I went to leadership trainings, anything from learning the proper and effective communication, money management, to enlightening myself and others.

I kept writing my why, my dreams and my goals. When I mentioned that my business is not growing as I would like to, I was told that I need to work on my belief system or that my WHY is not big enough.

I never made it big . But there I was, chasing my dream from home.

And then after burning out - after working like mad-woman for three years, barely making any money I "checked out" for about a year.

But then, the time came and I found myself looking for a new business in the network marketing industry. This time I decided "I gotta make this thing work!" There were times when I was stressed out - working, working, trying.

I was trying to justify my commitment to success. At the end of the year I realized that my business did not grow much, but I figured a piece of it out - the marketing part. The part none of my upline ever taught me. The part I had to go and find myself.

Why Most Network Marketers Go Broke Or Burn Out Before They See Any Income In Their Network Marketing Opportunity?

So, as I was working on my personal development, defining my WHY and strengthening my beliefs, I was looking for the right system. Some concrete business plan.

Don't take me wrong, I have built a decent size network marketing business. I have introduced people to the business I was building, but at what cost?

My first steps were home parties. In the first week I had hosted two in my home. Well, sold a few things, but no one was interested in the business. Since I felt that I do not have anyone else to talk to, I started to do cold calling right away. Oh, my! I had no idea what to say. I had my scripts for every possible scenario around me. If someone asked a question, I was lost.

At least the leads did not cost me anything, not then. My up-line supplied me with plenty of leads , that was not a problem. Or maybe I should say they supplied me with lists of names and phone numbers. I just had to get through it - wrong numbers, hung ups. Occasionally I got yelled at. But many times it was rejection after rejection. I just kept telling myself: "They are not against me; they are just not interested in this business."

I was talking to people everywhere, everyone I know, everyone they know and anyone I met. Every time my husband and I were in a restaurant I would leave a business card with my payment. I was chasing my kids through parking lots, leaving "opportunity" cards on cars.

Whenever my up-line came with the latest and the best way of generating leads, I was there. Hundreds of dollars spent on e-mail systems. Just to get threats of shutting down my internet access. Spending money on calling centers, which were supposed to (with the help of computer) call these leads on my behalf. Until a glitch in the system called these "prospects" at 3 a.m. and I finally got some responses - yelling at me for about a week.

Well, I can say that I have spent a lot of money testing and trying different types of lead generating systems. I was trying to find this "magic" formula, this system, which I could use, and share with others to build this business in much more practical way. I knew there had to be a system in place.

The problem I saw at that time was not having a system in place, which my downline could duplicate. The people in my downline were not willing to spend so much money on leads.

Whenever I talked to a new prospect, I would assure them we had a system in place. We called it "the baseball diamond". You show the person your website (which of course was the best in the industry - right?), then invite them on a call and the last base is a closing call with your up-line. The major problem? -Where to even find the person to get them to your first base, never mind the rest of the bases in the diamond.

Not even my WHY and my huge dream board couldn't help with the negative feeling towards this process.

There Are Other Ways To Build Your Network Marketing Business

The Road Of Discovery Is Not A Straight Path

For a while I knew that there must be a better way to do this business. If I think of it, I have actually stumbled upon attraction marketing in my second year of being in network marketing business. But, based on the advice of my up-line, I did not follow this path.

Then two years ago, I paid a lot of money to go to a network marketing seminar, which explained my problem. Or so I thought it did. The problem was that I needed to promote myself, not my network marketing business. So, I spend more money (a few thousand of dollars actually) to have my website built. I started some internet advertising, which cost even more money.

The result was not that great. I did get a few leads, but I could not ask these people to spend so much money on their websites . So, once again, what I had was not duplicable at all and did not help my success in network marketing.

One good thing came out of this. I definitely knew that I was on the right path of discovering upon business system, plan, which will get me where I needed to go.

I turned to the internet itself and I started to search for answers. I was doing a bit of advertising already through some article writing and google advertising.

In those days I came across a lot of hype and sites promising it all. I knew that nothing is easy and I will have to work for it. But I knew that it had to be easier than the ancient ways of building network marketing business as I was taught. I was looking for more effective, smarter and duplicable way of building my upon network marketing business.

Then I found it. When I saw this model of lead generation I knew that this is it.

I learned that there is a way, through which I can have people asking me about my network marketing business instead of me chasing them and telling them.

I honestly respect my past leaders and my up-line. What they taught me might have not worked for me (it actually doesn't for about 97% of people), but it opened my eyes.

With this new attraction marketing business plan. I am now generating my own leads without spending hundreds of dollars. I am talking to people, who are calling me. I am not chasing anyone. I am talking to high quality and well qualified leads.

The "old school approach" of share your products, talk to all your friends and family is long gone. This new way of building network marketing business is much more practical, makes sense and anyone can do it.
