The "7 Great Lies of Network Marketing", written by Ann Sieg hits home with the hard facts as well as causing a certain amount of controversy.

Ann Sieg's opening line in the report "if you feel like you're struggling way too hard to make it in network marketing and nothing is happening, I wrote this book specifically for you". got my attention right away. Apparently, I'm not the only one. I gather a few uplines have not been too happy with what she has written. Whether they are happy or not, the negative experiences of network marketers speak for themselves.

Ann Sieg covers the following topics about network marketing in her report:

1. Everyone is your prospect.
2. This really isn't sales. We share the products.
3. Anyone can do this.
4. We'll build your business for you.
5. We have the best product ever.
6. You just don't have enough belief.
7. The proven system.

Sound familiar. As my husband and I went through the report, we kept on making exclamations of "we've done that", "that's what we used to say." We cringed as we kept reading because we could relate to everything she was highlighting. We had experienced exactly what she described.

After reading this report one aspect was very clear, we were not sharing products, we were selling them. We certainly looked at every person as a possible prospect.

Some network marketing stats I found quote the following:

...between 70 to 80% of distributors will give up within the first 3 months.
...95% never make it past 12 months.
...and almost 80% will never even sponsor one person into their business.

With stats like that, somethings got to be wrong out there. I've seen this exact pattern take place in our own network marketing business.

Entrepeneurs working a home based business can fall into bad habits.
Working from home, it's easy to get distracted. It's not like being in the usual work environment where your boss is keeping a close eye on what you are achieving. It requires a certain level of discipline.

For consistant growth and results to take place we need to be taking action on a daily basis towards marketing our business opportunity more effectively.

One of the mistakes I've made is concentrating on too many projects all at the same time. When you get into the marketing arena you start to associate with many successful entrepreneurs, all promoting their products. Eventually, you are trying to take in so much information that you have actually stopped taking action on your network marketing business.

Now don't get me wrong, absorbing as much information to help you grow is good, but when that's all you are doing and your not physically applying anything, that's bad.

Thankfully, I realised this quick enough and have refocussed and started taking action steps towards marketing again.

Some tips to keep on track with the Renegade University:

1. Set fixed hours you are going to work in, whether it is part time or full time and stick to it.
2. Set a daily goal of what you want to achieve in the course.
3. Set a weekly goal of what you would like completed.
4. Read some info daily to help you grow in knowledge.
5. Don't skip steps, go through the tutorials one by one, it will make way more sense.

For those of us completely new to all this internet network marketing stuff, be patient, just take it a step at a time, but take those steps consistently.

Inch by inch it's a sinch, yard by yard it's hard.

If you feel a little discouraged one day, re-listen to some of Mike Klinglers tutorials, that always encourages me to keep moving forward.

There is a lot of work to get through, so make sure you reward yourself. For me, it's calling a friend and heading off to my favourite coffee shop.
