There Once Was A Band Named Mahoney

Chris Martin and Chris Phillips met in high school and had their musical beginnings like most kids.......in a band with a bunch of their friends. Breaking away from that original idea, the two began collaborating and sharing their musical ideas and sharpening their songwriting craft. Opting to begin playing shows as a duo, they christened their new project, Mahoney.

In 2008, the band opted to record their debut EP with producer Matt Noveskey (Blue October, (a )machines). Upon completion of the EP, Mahoney changed their name to IAMDYNAMITE and began playing live shows and performing on the club circuit, throughout the United States.

IAMDYNAMITE | SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC

SUPERMEGAFANTASTICWhile the band was touring, two music videos were released. Produced by Marty "Lazer" Stano, the band's debut video, "Turn Off The Lights And Turn On The Stereo" was entered into Fuse TV's "Make-A-Star" Best Music Video 6 competition and took the first place prize. Their follow up video for the single, "Ms. Jones" took second place in the same competition, the following year.

In 2010, the "minimalist" rock duo began recording their debut album at Willie Nelson's Pedernales Studio, just outside of Austin, Texas. The album was initially released in September 2011, but is being re-issued with bonus tracks and a more aggressive push. We'll bring you more information about the band's future plans, once they are announced.
