- I lived in Wells, Maine until I was 12, and currently live in Peterborough, NH (and have lived in this area for 13 years. New England is such a rich, beautiful region, full of natural beauty and history, and I have always been homesick living anywhere else.

- Great lens! I took my vacation last year to Primrose Inn in Bar Harbor, then 5 days in Lincoln, NH and the White Mountains in late September. Was there during the perfect transition from summer to autumn: flowers in bloom on the ground, leaves changing above.

- I've lived in New Hampshire for 16 years and there's STILL lots of things there and throughout New England I have not explored. Maybe once I get back from living in Brazil for a year (which I'm beginning to write about here on Squidoo) I'll do some writing about some of my favorite places in New Hampshire!

- North Conway NH is a beautiful destination in the White Mountains of NH. For a true mtn. village experience Jackson NH can bring you back to the time of the grand old hotels.
Essex MA and Cape Ann are also a few hidden gems of MA tourism.

- I can't tell you the name of the Best Beach North of Cape Cod but I can tell you that #2 is Crane's Beach in Ipswich MA. Full services available, patrolled, lifeguards in season, very family friendly with gentle surf for fun in the waves. Great tides.

- Beautiful lens. I lived in Connecticut for two years when I was small. My sister went to college in Massachusetts and I visited here there several times. Also, I was in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for a weekend when I was going to law school in Washington, DC. Last but not least, I was in Newport, RI visiting the mansions. That's four out of six! New England is a great place to visit (and live).

- I summer in New Hampshire, but love wandering around in Maine and Vermont too. The seafood alone is reason enough to come to this scenic area. Driving the curvy back roads and into lovely villages that date back to colonial days is a beautiful way to travel.
I could go on and on, but you've covered it pretty well in this lens.

- Ah -- been meaning to read this road trip for a long time -- so glad I stopped by, as it brought back some lovely memories! 40 years ago we joined my parents in upstate NY, rented a pop-up camper, and 6 of us (including our son, age 6 and daughter age 3) took a 6 day camping 'road trip' through the New England States. We saw so many of the places you mention here - Mount Washington (including riding the cog railway) and Franconia Notch in New Hampshire, the mountains in Vermont, visited Stowe (in fact, today, I have a cousin who is a pastry chef at a ski resort in Stowe), on up to Maine with a fresh lobster meal on the Maine coast, back down to Massachusetts with a day touring Boston, including a fantastic, never-to-be-forgotten, meal at Durgin Park, and many other places. We didn't make it to Rhode Island, but loved the 6 days we had in NE. To this day, my daughter teases me that we wouldn't buy her a lobster dinner in Maine and made her eat a hot dog! I keep reminding her she was only 3-years-old and one doesn't spend the price of a lobster meal on a 3-yr-old! LOL. This is a delightful reminder of my trip. ~~SquidAngel Blessed~~

Great tourism lens - shows off the best of the region and each state's uniqueness. Autumn is the most beautiful season, but all the seasons in New England have their special appeal.
