New Horizons - Mission to Pluto

In a NASA mission that is sure to yield some extremely important scientific findings, New Horizons is currently traveling to the dwarf planet Pluto. It will be the first craft to study Pluto and its three moons, Nix, Charon, and Hydra. New Horizons blasted off on an Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, on January 19, 2006.

Not surprisingly, the conditions on Pluto are bitterly cold, with the temperature around minus 387 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Very neat. No matter what anyone says, space exploration is not a waste of money. You don't get anywhere in life or expand your horizons by sitting on your duff and stargazing and it's the same for space.
