If you haven't heard the term CMS, then you're about to. A Content Management System (CMS) allows you to manage your content without changing your design. What does this mean?

It means you or your web designer spend less time making updates and modifications because the site design does not have to be touched at all.

These days, most of the site work I do is centered around CMS systems because it just makes sense.

My goal is to get out of the way of my clients. I want to be there to support, encourage, and give all the necessary tools they need to be successful. I think it's unfair that so many web designers keep clients in servitude by building sites that only they can update and maintain.

Sure, not everyone wants to make major changes to their site on their own without guidance or assigning me the task. That doesn't mean they should not be able to make minor changes such as adding events to their calendars, blog posts, pictures, etc.

I think it's costly and risky to depend on one person to maintain a website. What if that person leaves, moves away out of your realm, or leaves the planet. Think about this.

Although each site is unique in its own way, every site needs the minimus: good search engine optimization, traffic strategies, email marketing, social media campaigns, video marketing, and good content. That's just the beginning.

Step by step, you can build and define your web presence on the internet.

Don't expect it to all get done at once. It does take time. Think of your web presence development in stages and phases requiring testing, experimentation, and lots of patience. It can be done.
