New types of Solar Panels to be appearing across cities like Cambridge

Why do I mention solar panels in Cambridge ? If you have read my previous posts you'd understand. Basically, I've indentified Cambridge as a city where there have been an above average number of early adopters.

However, with the RHI's having such a generous subsidy (around 12% ROI) we are likely to a wide range of renewable heating systems appearing across the country.

Initially, I suspect, most of these will be solar hot water systems. This is simply because the speed and ease of installation. However, if the government is right about it's predictions, we are likely to see a large increase in systems such as ground source heat pumps.

According to the guardian, the government intend for the RHIs to encourage enough investment into low carbon heating to save 44million tones of C02 a year by 2020. This would be the equivalent to taking 20 gas-fired power stations off the grid.
This is a big step towards a low-carbon Britain. Providing the review of the Feed-in-tariffs only reduce the subsidy for those people looking to create solar farms, our nations rooftops will soon be transformed meaning that you should soon see a number of different types of solar panels across cites like Cambridge.
