Our 2008 Visit to The Big Apple
I know there are millions of pics on the internet of New York City. So to some of you this is probably a pretty boring lens, but I had to share anyway. It was such an amazing experience!
In the 14 years I lived on Long Island, I never went to see Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, The Empire State building or any of it.
On this lens I have tons of photo's from the trip. Hope you enjoy!

Art show on the way!
Considering it was the last game before the All Star break, my husband decided to get a room close to Shea Stadium. I also wanted to see Shea for one last time before it was torn down. We did visit shortly, however we did not end up seeing the game, but that's another subject.
We also found it was also MUCH less expensive than staying in Manhattan. We just took the train in everyday.
There was lots to see from the train. I being an artist was blown away by the graffiti. Entire buildings covered in it.

Times Square
When we visited Times Square, I took literally hundreds of photo's. I just added a few below, otherwise this lens would be way too long. I really should have made a separate lens just for Times Square.
I "think" the image on the right was taken from the window at Applebee's.

- I really want to visit NYC again, it's been about five years. Last time I went, Little Italy was having the Feast of San Genarro Festival, as it always does in September (probably right around now, actually). Blessed!

- I have not (yet) been to New York, however a dear friend of mine who worked in the financial sector invited me many times. Our lives were so busy back then (in the late 90's). After 9/11 she flew back to South Africa to live with her parents. I am soooo glad to see that New York has rebuilt and the spirit is alive and well (evident in your photos and videos).
