One Big Waterwheel
New Hamburg, a quaint little town in Southwestern Ontario is home to North America's largest operating waterwheel. Nestled in a rural area, it maintains that small town feel but the town does things in a big way! Located just off Highway 7&8, we're about a 20 min. drive from either Kitchener/Waterloo or Stratford.
In September 2008, New Hamburg celebrated it's 150th anniversary! Festivities included a heritage parade and demonstrations, and a butter churning competition.
New Hamburg also hosts the annual Wilmot Gingerbread House Contest where local residents compete in various categories for the best gingerbread creations. Groups and individuals are welcome to enter.

- The Ontario Mennonite Relief Sale Inc. operates the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale held in New Hamburg the last Friday and Saturday of May. The handmade quilts are stunning and world-renowned.
