It's important for you to be and stay connected with other believers who can help you grow spiritually. Even more important, you need to stay connected to the Word of God.

There's so much God wants to teach you. So go for it! Check out the resources on this page and learn all you can!!

If you are new to the Christian faith, you may have some friends you'd like to share with whom you'd like to share the good news about Jesus Christ. One way to do that is with my new ebook, Just Like Jonah Wail Tales.

This book contains exaggerated tales of woe by modern day characters, who make bad choices and land in a whale of trouble. They learn -- just like Jonah in the Bible, that there is a price to pay when you disobey. In each story, the character turns to God who is faithful to change his or her circimstances.

It is my goal to help others realize the importance of seeking God, surrendering their lives to him, and doing what he says.

The ebook includes a short story involving a modern Jonah who messes up, seeks God, and receives his mercy. It includes discussion questions, related Scriptures and optional homework -- writing a short story of their own.

When I was a relatively new Christian, God began giving me melodies to Scripture as I read. It was rather surprising since I'd never been able to write music. I even tried to get out of it, I must admit. But eventually I had to acknowledge this was God and I'd better do what he wanted.

Well, he gave me a flood of songs and I ended up self publishing three CDs. Then the melodies stopped coming, but he has continued to inspire me to use my talents for his glory. He left me with the realization that I can continue to write songs as well as columns, stories and books. He even enabled me to record the music myself!

He's also inspired Scripture posters, mugs, mousepads, cards and more!

Writing, arranging and recording the Scripture song CDs was an awesome experience. I not only experienced the joy of God using me for his purposes, at a level that I was only minimally prepared for in the flesh, but I realized he used the songs to give me much better grasp of Scriptures.

I invite you to check out the songs, sing them with me, and commit to memory the precious promises God has in his word for us. Pray over them and claim these promises as your own.

The songs are in a traditional style because I believe that is what God wanted. They are melodic and the music does not seek to compete with the words. The first CD was Victory!, which takes you on a musical journey from seeking God to singing in freedom at the conclusion. The latter two CDs are Arise, Shine, about walking in his plan for your life, and Bring my Soul out of Prison, about seeking God for greater freedom in your life.

If you've recently joined the family of God, the most important resource you need is a Bible. After that, you need a good Bible believing church that will back you up. Become an active part of your new church family, and God will use them to help you grow.

When you read God's word regularly, you will learn lots and lots of new things. Let God teach you all about himself through his word and your new Christian friends. Be open to his leading. He may have an assignment for you volunteeering in a church program using your talents. If it is God directing you, it should not be a burden. It should be a joy!

As you become involved, God will unveil his plan for you and likely refer you to even more resources he has for you. Be blessed!

As a new Christian, you're likely very excited about sharing what you have learned about God with others. That's a good thing!

You may have some family or friends who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior. You may especially be concerned about them and for them. Before you do anything, pray for them. Pray God will reveal himself to them. Tell God you are available to share your faith and testimony. Ask for wisdom; ask for opportunities to share. And keep praying.

Prayer will pave the way. Without it, you may have a chance to share a tidbit of knowledge about God. But -- in my experience -- it was like they couldn't hear it. It had no impact! Or worse, the walls went up. God must open the door. He must prepare their hearts. He knows the best way to reach each and every person. Trust him and obey!

As a new Christian, you may be interested in learning as much as you can! A good place to frequent is New Christian Books Online Magazine. This magazine, published by your lensmaster Cheryl Rogers, features announcements about new Christian books, as well as book reviews, book excerpts, a devotions blog, and features of interest to readers and writers.

The magazine was designed to promote literature building the kingdom of God. It includes a store featuring books and music.

Mission Possible by Deborah McCarragher is a book for women interceding in prayer for their husband. Readers are challenged to seek God's promises for their spouse and their future. This book was awarded the 2010 Gold Seal Best Book in Christian Non-Fiction at Readers Favorite.

It doesn't seem that long ago that I was a new Christian. Because I came to know God as an adult, I felt like I was behind -- that I needed to catch up on the knowledge I missed for not regularly studying God's Word.

I longed for a resource that would get me up to speed fast, but I did not find one. So, being a former journalist, I put my skills to use by writing a book that encapsulated the wisdom we need to live the Christian life.
