Using Paint Shop Pro to design your next project is easy, fun, and affordable. Find out how easy it really is to design banners, logos, business cards, websites, and more. I will show you how to save money, and still get the same results as a professional. The future for us all is digital, no matter which way you look at it, you will eventually have to use a graphic program, and or even design your very own website someday. It is the age of online communication via websites, blogs, videos, and these typically are customized to fit your all around style.

My pick is the affordable popular program and because I believe in it so much I will show you how to use it for free! No catches, no nothing! I do this freely for those that truly want to learn how to use the program, and if you like what I've offered to you, you can say thank you just by showing your friends our website. That is it!

You can read more about this wonderful version which is Brand New! Corel PaintShop Pro X4 Ultimate. With over $250 in free upgrades.

Here is a list of the programs you may need for your project adventure. This list includes everything to build a complete website with text, graphics, and more. I highly suggest Paint Shop Pro, to be a priority in this list so it is #1.

1.Corel PaintShop Pro X4 Ultimate
2. HTML editor which is a free open source editor KompoZer
3. Animation Shop 3 or your favorite GIF animation program.

There is no need to worry that you cannot use the Paint Shop Pro program by Corel, because Michele's Paint Shop offers free video tutorials that cater to new users. She will take you step by step, and explain everything from opening up your paintbrush, drawing with shapes, saving your graphics as clip art, and go as far as adding very cool 3D effects. You can learn by watching her video tutorials freely in the privacy of your own home. She will even show you how to design your very own websites. If you planned on buying some $500.00 video instruction program to teach you how to use the program forget about it. She offers it freely! You will also find a forum on her website that is dedicated to everything Paint Shop Pro, Web Design, and even marketing tips!

Paint Shop Pro saves you a lot of money compared to the more popular alternative known as Photoshop. Personally I have used both, and I find that Paint Shop Pro easier to use and can do just as much as the higher priced software.

You will see different versions of PSP and PSP tubes out there in the search engines. The current version as of September, 2011, is Paint Shop Pro X4, and her site will help with any version on the forum where everyone is treated equally! Newbies and Advanced users are all respected the same, and everyone can share their tutorials, tubes, brushes, and more. If you think you would like to become part of that community then join the forum

One of the most popular features of the Paint Shop Pro program is that it allows you to work in layers. Layers allow you to stack your graphic parts or pieces within one single image which allows you to make some very cool banners, logos, and more. The second most popular feature is the very handy transparent graphics tool known as PSP Tubes. This feature basically works just like a stamper. You have your favorite graphic that you can scale down in size and use it in many projects. You can design your own tubes, or collect them from other Paint Shop Pro websites.

There are several tutorials on the internet about using PSP Tubes, and if you stick around to read this page I will fill you in on everything you you need to know about using and making your very own tubes. Why would you want to use them? We use graphic tubes to make cool graphics, banners, logos, animations and more for scrap booking, candy wrappers, backgrounds, business logos, banners, and you can even design your very own website with Paint Shop Pro.

Do you have a small business where you design Candy Wrappers? Soap Wrappers? Gift Baskets? CD/DVD Covers? You can even design your own graphics for T-shirts and more! Save money and use Paint Shop Pro by the very well known and trusted software company called Corel.

What are PSP Tubes?

How and why do I want to use PSP Tubes?

A tube is a premade graphic that you or someone else has made, and saved for using within the program called Paint Shop Professional. If you were to design a picture of a heart that you just loved, and wanted to use it over and over again you would export (save) as a .pspTube with the PSP S2 program.

A tube works like a stamp, but the ink never runs out. PSP Tubes are nice to use when you are building a layered image in the Paint Shop Professional program. (see samples further down in this lens) Every graphic on this lens has been tubed so that it can be used over and over again. They are even available for you to add to your very own tube collection at home.

To explain the use of a tube with layers let's take a standard picture that contains grass, sky, sun, tree, and a cartoon character. Each item will be on it's own layer, and each item has a clear/transparent background.

The first layer I flood fill my sky background (which is not a tube.) The second layer I use my grass tube, and add some grass to the image. The third layer I my tree, and I continue adding all the elements to my image which in this case are tubes.

Each layer has the freedom to be edited where I can move my tree, or my sun around without upsetting other areas of the image. The image can be saved as a .pspimage so that you can always go back to it and edit it in the future.

Here is a sample graphic that shows lined paper that was made within the Paint Shop Pro program. You can design the paper in any color, and even print it to use it!

PSP Tube Samples

The below tubes are shown on two types of backgrounds.

The black/white backgrounds are to show you what the graphic looks like on standard colors. This also is to show the viewer that the tubes are clean and do not have stray pixels.

The gray/white check backgrounds. Many graphic programs us this check pattern to show that the background to the image is "transparent"

Here are some more tubes that were made with Paint Shop Pro, and can easily be used over and over again in any projects. Even the picture frame was made with Paint Shop Pro!

Clipart Graphics

Here are samples, and you can see they are not shown at their actual sizes. Most tube samples are shown small, and you can only imagine if they look this good sized down, then they must look amazing in full size!

Text on a Curve Tutorial Part 1

You can use version X2 or X3 to complete this tutorial. I receive emails at times where my viewers state that they understand how to get text to follow a curve on the "top" of an oval shape, but they have a problem adding the text to follow the bottom curve. This tutorial will answer those emails.

There are other ways to manipulate text on a curve, but everyone tends to find a way that works best for them. This happens to be one way I find it handy to work with my text on a curve.
