- I found cribs and bassinets to be totally useless. Sleeping with your baby is a safe way to care for your baby and will give you more sleep than you would find if you got up to feed your baby in the night.
The one most essential thing that I could not live without with a newborn would be a sling. A sling will hold your baby close for nursing and contentment.
