The new iMac is a slimmer redesign built from aluminum (like the pro products) and glass. This new all-in-one desktop will come in two sizes: 20-inch and 24-inch. The new iMac comes with the usual compliment of I/O ports like the USB 2.0, Firewire 400/800, a slot loading SuperDrive, and more. The new iMac has up to a 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo Extreme processor, ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics, up to 1TB of storage, Bluetooth 2.0, 8x SuperDrives, an iSight camera, and 4GB of RAM.

This new iMac is soooo easy to add memory with just one screw.

The new keyboard is slimmer than the typical keyboard. This does take a little bit of time to get used to. The front edge of the keyboard itself stands only about one-third of an inch above the desk. The keyboard comes with two USB ports and is wireless. The keyboard also has dedicated keys for a screen dimmer and brighter, expose, media controls, volume controls, and eject for the optical drive. The mouse is also wireless.

The new iMac has many applications. As a matter of fact the new iMac is introducing iLife '08. This takes applications to a new level. The apps include iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, iDVD, and GarageBand. The apps are pretty user friendly.

With the monitors, instead of the same color all the way around the front and the screen, the new iMac has a black border about one inch thick all around the screen. This gives the new monitor the effect that makes the screen look larger. The screen is very glossy and it is highly reflective which makes the iMac look a lot like an LCD television.

A black Apple that is the same as the borders of the screen has replaced the silver Apple logo.

For me it did not have quite the WOW factor that I was expecting, but I still think it has a solid look. I love what Apple has done under the hood of the new iMac. I think you will definitely enjoy and have fun with the new apps on the new iMac for years to come.
