The power of social networking websites is in your ability to leave a trail of links (to your internet content) behind you as you surf along. Squidoo makes this a simple and easy thing to do.

The beauty of these new web 2.0 tools is everyone wins. Both the content creator and the person interacting with the content. Leaving a comment on a site you visit (like this Squidoo lens) adds content hence value to it. The comment you leave will contain a link to YOUR content adding value to you and your stuff (an inbound link and some potential visitors).

Two excellent examples of this can be seen right here on this network marketing information Squidoo lens. To use them you need to be logged into your Squidoo account then...

1. Favorite It... Off in the right hand column of this screen you'll see a section called "Bookmark And Share". Among the bookmarking icons you'll see a link called "Favorite It". Just click on this link and your picture will be added to those already here in this column. That little picture will also be a link to YOUR lens here on Squidoo. Squidoo automatically does that for you too! It couldn't be easier. And it's fun to see your picture start popping up all over the place, too!

2. The Guest Book/Comments Section... Down at the bottom you are encouraged to leave a comment. When you do not only do folks see that this lens has been of value to you, but YOU are given a link to YOUR lenses here at Squidoo and if you choose to add one there could even be a link to some of your other content. Just be careful not to get carried away with adding "extra" links or the lens/blog creator my decide you're being greedy and delete your comments.

It's easy to use. First you should be logged into your Squidoo account. Then all you have to do is type your comment into the empty box at the bottom of this page called "your blurb" and hit SAVE. Squidoo (like all good web 2.0 tools) takes care of the rest. Your comment will be saved and published on the page. Squidoo will even automatically create and publish a link to YOUR lens right along with each of your comments! How easy is that?

This same principal applies to other web 2.0 tools as well, such as blogs.

Just remember, the more value you add with your comments the more likely it is to be...

1. posted by the content creator and

2. noticed and acted on (clicked on) by other visitors to the site.
