The New Paradigm

The old is new again!

Quantum physics has become the New Paradigm and millions are jumping on the bandwagon. Through movies and books like "What the Bleep Do We Know?" and "The Secret", people are learning about what the Universe is all about.

However, this is nothing new. In fact the Great Sages like Lao Tzu (The Tao Te Ching) knew this stuff centuries ago, and as we look deeper into it we'll see that most of us have at least had a glimpse into the realms of Universal consciousness at varoius times in our lives.

What we perceived it to be though was controlled by our programming and training at that point.

One - How Simple Is That?

Our first collective glimpse

Our entire lives are based on a sense of community. We find fullfillment when we "belong" and have a longing when we're alone.

We all know that oneness is a good thing, but it takes different forms for each of us. Some are happy to be "one" with a significant other, while some only find fullfillment when joined to a larger group.

In all cases however, our sense of "one", though it varies significantly depending on who we are and where we live, is based on the inner knowledge that the Universe with all its perceived vastness is just one thing.

We've always sensed it, but our understanding of it was clouded by our programmed autonomy.

We "see" individual things, but everything is simply manifestations of the same thing, the same wave of energy that makes up the Universe.

You, me, the chair you're sitting in, everything, is just one thing perceived through our eyes to be individual entities.

But this is only our perception.

We can understand easily that all things are made of the same elements. We can quickly agree that everything came from the same source, though that "Source" takes on different identities. But then how far does one have to go to "see" that all things are actually the same thing viewed through eons of programmed perceptions?

Quantum physics teaches that particles, that which makes up the tangible, are only particles when they're observed. If left unobserved, they simply aren't there.

So what we "see" is merely our own perceptions of the wave at various times and places.

According to this then, you, me, the rocks in your garden, your friends and enemies, the planets and stars, the boundaries of the entire Universe are all just figments of your programmed perceptions.

We are not individuals. We are not as some believe "connected". We are literally One!

One thing seen differently as fragmented particles, but actually just one wave of energy.

We are in fact, the Universe looking back at itself. The forms it takes depends on how we observe it, but in the truest sense of reality, its still just One.

No wonder we've always sensed it!

An Ancient Quantum Thinker

What Lao Tzu knew . . .

Opinion varies on the exact time frame, but most agree that the Tao Te Ching was written long before most other writings of a "spiritual" nature that we have today were ever conceived.

It was simply a book of poetry based on the observations of a simple man, but the impact its had on the world is astounding.

However, in most cases, the meaning behind the words of Lao Tzu have been grossly altered, and so much so that Taosim, the religion based on his words, scarcely resembles what the intended purpose of his message was.

Regardless of what humanity has done with the Sage's teachings, they remain an amazing observation from an ancient who, for all intents and purposes, was a Quantum thinker.

Lao Tzu knew that the "Tao" or energy wave was everything. It permeated everything, left its mark everywhere, and did everything without effort or ulterior motive.

He knew that no matter how many things humans could "name", they all broke down to One thing.

He taught the folly of getting involved with "social order," "rank," and "classifications" because they all divided and clouded the mind from seeing the One, and warned that this thinking was the cause of war, hunger and isolation between the rulers and the people.

He believed that the only way we would ever get back to our "natural inclinations" would be to unlearn all the programming that keeps us from seeing things as they really are.

So he taught "not doing" as his prime motivation. "Not doing", meaning not following the masses who were concerned with the order of the day. Rather he said we should simply be observing the "Tao" and all of its manifestations and letting that guide one's course of action.

He taught harmony with the Universe, rejection of perceptions, finding beauty and usefullness in all things, and learning to go with the flow of the Tao.

Let the world do what it does, but let the person of understanding follow the course the Universe takes to reach fullfillment.

Now Lao Tzu has been labeled a Mystic, but this all seems pretty logical to me.

I really think that if those who are heading down the Quantum Path, took the time to read, or reread the Tao Te Ching, they'd walk away with a clearer path to where they're going.

Lao Tzu taught what's being taught now by some of the greatest minds.

He knew!

One - Part Two

the counter-productiveness of limiting One

Our natural sense of "One" can also be a hindrance to seeing things clearly.

The whole thing is much like the ancient story of the three blind monks who were given the task of describing an elephant. They were each assigned a specific feature of the elephant to touch and explore, and came up with three completely different descriptions.

For the most part, we're also blinded when it comes to seeing the Universe for what it truly is, because we're only given small portions of it to "feel" our way around to determine what it is for us.

So our personal idea of "One" can and will take on an entirely different dimension than someone living in another part of the world, or for that matter, someone living next door or even in the same house.

Because of these "blind" attempts to make a personal or programmed decision, we find that, rather than uniting, "One" can have the tendency to divide. Our personal sense of "One" has been the cause of war, nationalism, sectarianism, hyper vigilance, possessiveness, and just about all the other "isms" and "nesses" we could name.

When "One" becomes community we might feel we have something to protect and defend. This is where division occurs the most. Religion is a primary example where our "One" is better than your "one", our "One" is good and right, yours is evil and wrong.

On the Quantum levels of existence, consciousness is all there is. This makes thought the most powerful thing to us as observers. Our thoughts are our reality and determines what's true and what's not. But "true and false" is only valid as an individual perception.

My truth could be vastly different than yours, and so my reality wouldn't necessarily be yours. Evidence of fact then, is based on perceptions of the individual and only becomes "universal" when enough individuals perceive in the same way.

The validation of individual perceptions through large groups can be very powerful, and can create a concrete foundation for any ideology. But this too is merely a perception. In the end, this validation can either allow the individual to expand or can limit their perceptions that may go beyond the security of the group's ideologies.

Thus, if our "purpose" in life is to be observers, the ideology we subscribe to can actually keep us from participating in that purpose. In fact, it would be safe to say, the more rigid the ideology is, the more restrained we become to view things in an open and creative way.

To be continued . . .

Laissez Faire

what's love got to do with it?

Some people say love is the greatest and most powerful thought there is. However, love from a human standpoint, is a personal thing. It's an emotion from within and, at times can be possessive.

Love is also metered. That is, it's difficult to have love equally for everyone and all things. Thus it tends to be exclusive.

Now don't get me wrong, love is a great thing that everyone should have if its based on the contentment of being and a respect for the being of others.

But Laissez Faire, or Let it Be, can be the ultimate form of Universal respect in that it affords all things safe passage to be as they choose without judgment or partiality.

When one can simply live and let live, that one becomes non interfering and thus better emulates the Universal energy that carries on without prejudice or ulterior motive. It becomes love without purpose or qualifications.

When we think and act in terms of Laissez Faire then we're viewing the world around us with an opened mind, and so we can become the observers we're inclined to be naturally. All things become experiential, all others become fellow travelers in our journey for Universal creation, all judgments become trivial and unimportant.

I like to think of it in terms of parallel universes. Each of us creates our own universal environment that exists simultaneously with every one else's. There are, of course, over laps and similarities because of the collective programming of what we're taught through life to be real. But we each get through it our own way with our own views of what's possible and what's not.

Our actions are merely measures or counter measure to help us carve our way through what we perceive to be reality. Our fears, our talents, our emotions, our sense of duty are all based on these perceptions. There can be no judgment in this, but as fellow travelers we can offer assistance when another loses their way and gets bogged down.

To me, this is the greatest form of love. To afford all things the ability to travel through their realities without interference or judgment, and render assistance and guidance only when it becomes absolutely necessary.

It creates a universal contentment in oneself that becomes contagious.

The Law of Attraction

your universe, your rules, your virus . . .

I'm not going to get into the explanation of what the Law of Attraction is here, because its already been explained over and over on other sites and in the book "The Secret". But I would like to take it a few steps further than perhaps others have.

As was mentioned in the previous article called "Laissez Faire," we are all travelers in our personal journeys to understand our Universe. Some of that journey is based on preconceived, programmed analysis due to the collective teachings handed down to us throughout our lives, while the rest is based on our own experiences. But regardless, the final decisions we make, whether they're based on our own perceptions or that of others, are our own. We take each step toward whatever ends we see.

Our own personal thoughts, no matter how we achieved them, are the road map.

Being as that may, thoughts are intangible and so they can be molded to be anything you want them to be. You can change them at any time, solidify them, liquefy them or reject them all together. Thus our road map becomes "interactive" in that we can make it take us wherever we decide to go.

So we're in no way bound to follow any one course. We are free to roam about the Universe.

Thus it would make sense to create a map that would take you to a good place. And yes, you have the right to do this even if that means rejecting thoughts that have been planted in your head by mom and dad, your schools, your religious leaders, anyone!

The beautiful thing about the Law of Attraction is that it doesn't matter what you desire to attract. It won't effect anyone else, and so no one will tell you to follow this course, or that course, buy this, or learn from that. If you make it your goal to attract good things, no matter what they are, it will enhance the positive collective and thus benefit everyone.

Fear is cumulative. The fear of one builds on the fear of another until everyone is paranoid. But this also true when it comes to the positive.

Taking a positive path in your personal journey will have an effect on all those around you. In time, those that know you will also be "seeing" new possibilities and your positive outlook will become viral.

Your determination to attract the good will actually begin to draw out the good things in other people and the whole collective will start shifting toward the positive.

A bit more on the "collective" and its power to come.

The Art of Attracting

don't just stand there . . .

Logically if you want something, it would make sense to go after it. Just thinking you want something isn't going to make it happen.

Sure, thoughts become reality, but you also have to align yourself with those thoughts so that you're available to receive. After all, you'll never fill the bucket if you don't know enough to put it under the faucet, right?

Now we're not talking about "forcing solutions" here. That never works. We're talking about alignment.

Chuang Tzu told a story about a king's butcher who was so good at his trade that his chopper never had to be sharpened. The butcher claimed that he knew the meat he was cutting so well that he could slice between the bones every time.

He had aligned himself with his craft and was able to do it without effort.

All the other butchers wanted to be a master butcher, but they were forcing the chopper and thus had to continuously sharpen them. He alone knew the Art of Attracting because he knew that to get what you desire, you first have to master it by becoming One with it.

Now there's a lot of talk about using the Law of Attraction to become rich, and even though Quantum physics and the Law of Attraction aren't about making money, you can still accomplish that if its what you desire. But simply imagining yourself rich, or thinking about it won't get you there.

To get the Universe to say, "your wish is my command" as the author of the Law of Attraction claims, you first have to align your self with the Universe as well as with what you want. This goes way beyond thought and even further beyond wishing.

But then, for the truly enlightened, this being rich thing might cause a dilemma . . .

To be truly aligned with the Universe, you'd have to look beyond your self until you see the true self, that is the One. But seeking riches, fame, or glory are all just things of the personal self and can be categorized as social status.

So how far could you really get with it?

Perhaps there's far more valuable things to attract than money!

This is all very interesting. Although not directly related to the notion of creating reality, people interested in this topic should consider reading "The Physics of Consciousness" by Evan Walker which is available on Amazon. It was a haunting book that really gets into all things quantum at a deep level as to the meaning of life.

The Quantum Self

and the quest for it

All the great myths and legends are about the inner struggle we each face to find out who we are. The journey itself, the tasks, the characters are all parts of the same quest.

Every hero is you, every labyrinth is the challenges you encounter, every character are the fragmented parts of the self that need to be "tapped into" in order to achieve the final goal of reaching to the core of what makes up the total you.

As we progress through our lives from small child to elder, the pieces come together for most of us. As we run up against life altering experiences, we solve a puzzle. The answers to those puzzles aren't necessarily a success or failure thing, but rather how we deal with the challenges to be able to carry on personally through this life. The answers define who we are at any given point in our lives.

The "self" that we are as individuals is thus constantly changing and maturing, until hopefully, we reach a point in our lives where we find rest and contentment in our own skin. We then become the hero of our own legend!

But do we ever complete the journey and transcend to the "true self"?

The irony of it is that "self" takes on a much bigger sense than that which dwells inside your skin when we explore it from a Quantum perspective. In this case, there's only One, and so the "true self" would be that One.

This indicates that to truly find the "self" we'd first have to have the revelation of who we are, then let it go or let it dissolve to get to the point of personal "selflessness" in order reach the ultimate of being aligned with the True Self, or the One.

A remarkable journey indeed!

In some myths the hero disappears at the end, or is absorbed in light, or ascends into the heavens. Perhaps this was the myth tellers glimpse of what's really going on.

There's more to it beyond merely knowing oneself!

The Collective

how common perception works

There's a burning question that arises when we consider the concept that every thing in our world is actually one thing, and that that one thing is completely intangible. According to Quantum physics, the Universe is a single wave without form, its root is pure consciousness.

If this is true, then . . .

How can it be that all the things we see and use in our day to day lives are mere perceptions when we all see the same things?

There's obviously something that binds all perception together so that we see most things the same way. Because, if Quantum physics is true, then it would seem that "beauty would be in the eye of the beholder," or in other words, we'd all see the Universe in our own way with no common reality.

There would then be over six and a half billion different universes created through the perceptions of each individual on Earth. So there's got to be a reasonable explanation as to why when I say "tree" you can describe one just as I know a tree to be.

The fact is, the more individual observers there are who identify something commonly, the more tangible to us collectively it becomes. From the time we first start our journey of learning things, we're programmed to identify named objects, our emotions, circumstances, and just about everything else that we come across.

Naming things has been going on since the beginning of human existence, so the more common a thing would be, like the tree for instance, the more we'd all see it as it is commonly understood to be. Information handed down from our earliest ancestors and pooled as a collection of facts, if you will.

But then there are those things that aren't so common, like for example the European ships sailing over the horizon for the first time in North America. The Native People had no common identifier for them, so they simply didn't see them.

Or for us, we might find it difficult to identify a living organism residing on the ocean floor miles down. Sure we'd see it on our TV screen, but we can only see what it is after its named for us.

Without this collective, we'd all pretty much see nothing. With it, we run the risk of not seeing "the forest for the trees," because the more we rely on our "tangible" world, the less we can partake of the amazement in the Oneness of the Universe.

In this case you might say, we won't be able to see "the wave for the particles."

The Collective Influence

how it could be something really, really good . . .

As we've seen in the previous article, our world is formed and functions because, collectively, we see it as such. When something tragic happens, the world is outraged and saddened. When something good happens, well, it's a wonderful world after all and the sky seems a little bit bluer.

Most trends start by someone doing or saying something that seems bizarre. Eventually, if this keeps up, more people start adopting the action until it begins to appear normal. Soon everyone's doing it and we have an all out trend on our hands.

I know I'm dating myself, but I remember the reaction most people had toward the new Beatles haircut back in the early 1960s. Long hair on men was a joke and the whole thing was frowned upon by the older generations.

But the girls loved it, so the guys started letting their hair grow long. By the late 60s early 70s even old men were letting their "freak flag fly" and the whole trend became rather commonplace and accepted.

I remember constantly battling with my school teachers on that issue. Even got suspended because I wouldn't cut my hair. But by the mid 70s even the schools weren't saying much about long hair on boys. Today, anything goes.

Now this might seem trivial when we're talking about a paradigm shift, but the principle is the same no matter how small or great a trend may be.

If enough people want something to be so, then that's what happens!

Unfortunately there are almost as many somethings as there are people, so its not so easy to start a massive paradigm shift. We've seen how powerful a collective belief system can be, and if you consider how many of them there are among us, then you can see how monumental a task it would be to change things.

But then look what's happening with Global Warming . . .

More and more people started pointing out where the world was headed and then finally the scientists (authoritatives) got involved, Al Gore began touring with his message, and eureka!, we all know now that something has to be done immediately or else.

After all, the world is as it is because we've made it so collectively. We're not stuck with it this way.

If enough people leaned just a little in a more positive direction, then everyone would come aboard eventually.

It happens every day!

A New Frontier

congratulations! we've reached the tip of the iceberg . . .

The further down the rabbit hole Quantum Physicists go, the weirder things are becoming. And they've only just begun!

Virtually all the norms that were once considered stable, are slowly but surely dissolving into a strange new set of cosmic discovery. It began with the same particles being observed in more than one place at a time. Now they find that a particle and its electron can be in two separate locations with no ill effect.

What this actually means is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure . . .

Our tangible Universe is getting less and less so the deeper they go!

What this means for us is that there's no limit to the possibilities. It also means we've come across a New Frontier that no one ever expected.

In ages gone by, superstition led most people to believe in monsters, magic, and all sorts of things you read about in fairy tales. Then we moved into "just the facts ma'am" and stopped believing in what we couldn't see. Now we're beginning to understand that what is "real" has everything to do with what we see, but more importantly, we're discovering that what we can see is up to us and is completely unlimited in possibilities.

No longer do we have to cower in fear over what's out there, nor do we have to put blinders on ourselves to ignore what we don't understand.

We control our Universe and can shape it any way we want to, monsters, magic and all if we so choose. We can create what we want, and attract only that which we need, and change it all again at will.

But we have a long way to go down that rabbit hole. We've been locked into the old way of programmed thinking that has held us in this steel and glass world so long that it'll take some effort to let go.

Yet as we keep an eye out for new discoveries in Quantum physics, we might learn that those locks aren't so strong after all. It could take just one major discovery or affirmation to set the whole thing into a "never looking back" forward motion that will change our world forever.

This is just the tip of the iceberg!

About That Tree

yes, you know the one . . .

For centuries people have pondered over the question . . .

"If a tree falls in the forest, but there's no one there, does it make a sound?"

The answers have been elusive and widely varying, and for a very good reason! This is so because this simple question goes far deeper than most people realize.

We humans tend to see things from a rather egocentric position because, for eons, we've subscribed to the idea that we were the only living things that had the gift of thought. So in asking that question, we've always assumed that "no one" would have to infer the lack of human presence.

But in the Quantum paradigm we discover that consciousness abounds throughout the Universe and is not exclusively centered in our tiny human brains.

So the underlying query this question is really asking is, "who is 'no one'?" Or even more specifically, what is consciousness?

We now know that animals have feelings. They mourn, get angry, get excited, and yes, even love. I've watched my dog make decisions and show favoritism over one option or another. I've seen his facial expression change when situations are good or bad.

Wouldn't you say all of this is evidence of awareness? Consciousness?

Plants too have been shown to react to certain stimuli like music and other sounds. Even water reacts to moods and positive and negative feedback.

Perhaps the only real difference between human consciousness and that of other things is in how things are perceived. But just because the squirrel who just lost his home when the tree fell may perceive the tree as something other than we do, it doesn't make his perception any less valid.

Consciousness is pure, and so if it has a receptor, its valid whether coming through the perceptions of a human, an animal, or the tree itself.

So if all things have the benefit of consciousness, then all things have the qualification to be an observer.

If this is the case, then in our world, there's always an observer lurking somewhere. It may not observe as we do, but that doesn't matter.

So, yup!

Beliefs and Faith

how motivation creates your universe

One of the definitions of faith is that its "the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of reality though not yet seen."

In other words, faith is the Law of Attraction in operation. A person's belief system directs the attraction, and his faith in that belief system is what makes it a reality for him.

Throughout history, beliefs and faith in those beliefs have taken many forms and shapes, but they all appear to hold one thing in common. Every one of them delivers exactly what the believer expects it to. If the believer expects to be protected, he gets protection, if he believes he'll be purified, he gets it. On the other end, if he believes he deserves to be punished, he receives the full wrath of whatever deity he believes in.

And every single believer, depending on the extent of his faith, can attest to the truth of his beliefs.

This is a very strong motivator and it gets compounded when these beliefs are shared by a collective. Which is no doubt why there are so many religions in the world, and why those subscribing to them are so staunch in their faith in them.

Our Universe, by its nature, is totally impartial. This means that however you wish to observe things is fine with it. The Universe doesn't sway us to see a certain reality, nor does it penalize us for making bad decisions. It's merely the vessel in which all possible realities can be created by those observing.

According to this then, there are no right or wrong ways to perceive. If believing in a reality makes you feel safe, then that's ok. If a reality empowers you, great! These realities are your realities and no one can or should say they are right or wrong. They are simply yours.

So in the end, enjoy your faith. It's the Law of Attraction alive, well and motivating you. Seek out others that believe as you, if you wish to, in order to strengthen your faith.

Just know that the Universe is impartial to your faith and emulate that impartiality by affording others the same privilege. In this way, we can all reap the benefits of the realities we create for ourselves and live out our days in peace.

Positives and Negatives

your ultimate guide to the universe . . .

Many a motivational expert will tell you to focus only on positive energy to achieve any and all goals. But if you really do leave the negative out of your life, could you be missing some important parts of your road map?

Interestingly enough, the concepts of positive and negative are completely foreign to the Universal Consciousness.

Pure consciousness is not bias, has no motive, shows no favoritism. It simply is, and what is manifested by it simply is. Thus the idea that something could be considered a positive or a negative is a misconception we've inherited from the collective.

The truth is, everything that happens to us in our lives is about motion, position and clearing the path to our ultimate goals. What we call positive then, could be better seen as the "open doors" to obvious forward motion, and what we call negative could best be seen as that which we don't particularly need at the moment.

If then in our daily routines we come across difficulties, it simply means that we're stuck in a pattern of acquiring or attracting more of the things that we don't need. Understanding and identifying those things will help us get around them and allow us to find the open doors to get us moving forward again.

Our dreams explain this to us very nicely.

Nightmares are those dreams in which we find ourselves blocked or trapped. Labyrinth dreams are a fine example of this because no matter which way we turn or how hard we run, we can never escape. Our only way out is to wake up.

Likewise, if your life becomes a series of roadblocks and disappointments, wake up!

These things are telling you you're going in the wrong direction to get what you're looking for. If you want to get ahead and start having a better go of it, change course!

By removing the "evil" aspect of what we see as negatives, and instead, accepting them as the Universe telling you to move in a different direction, they can become a useful integration in our perceptions.

Some Great Magazines For You

Q & P

questions and perceptions . . .

Normally this would be titled Q & A in most places, but what's an answer anyway? It's merely a response based on the perceptions of the person being questioned, right?

Fact takes on an entirely different concept when viewing things from a Quantum perspective!

So these are some questions being asked around the cosmos along with my own perceptions on what I think could be construed as a viable answer. We might as well start with the big ones, like:

How does God fit into the Quantum picture?

The Universe is One thing. We are not parts of the Universe, we ARE the Universe.

This is probably the hardest thing to grasp because we "see" different things all around us. Couple that with being tied to our own personal self, it's hard to see past the autonomy of separate entities.

While this may be so, we are still just One thing immersed in a vast sea of consciousness. So if "God" was in the Universe, God would be no different than you or I with perceptions just like everyone else. In fact, as we are One, then God would be us.

If God were outside of the Universe, then the Universe would be seen as a single thing much like you or I see a drop of water. Our problems, worries, joys, and circumstances would not be viewable to a God on the outside.

Perhaps "God" might be considered the state of enlightenment we each can achieve once we get past our autonomy. Perhaps its just a name we give to our perception of what's beyond our present capability to understand.

Is there a limit to the size of the Universe?

There's a limit to the range of our perceptions of the Universe. However, the further we can "see" the more that's there.

The visible needs an observer to see it. So perhaps we could say that the Universe is "as far as the eye can see."

This may be backed up by what scientist call the expansion of the Universe. To them it appears that all the celestial bodies are moving further away from each other. But it could just be that as we "see" further out, our perception becomes wider ranged thus making it all seem bigger.

But then this raises another perplexing question . . .

Is consciousness IN the Universe? Or is the Universe consciousness itself?

The Lessons of Water

the power of go with the flow . . .

The Tao Te Ching uses water often in its analogies. Water is an enigma. Its the softest substance on Earth, yet it can carve its way through one of the hardest to get to where its going. Pass your hands through it and it offers no resistance, yet there isn't a rock in existence that can prevent it from penetrating.

Pretty amazing, eh?

But it can also reflect both light and dark at the same time without prejudice, distort perception, and contain all sorts of life without ever claiming ownership. And lately, its been discovered that water possesses consciousness because it responds to different stimuli.

In essence, water is a perfect imitator of the Universe!

So then, what can it teach us?

Well for one thing, it shows us that life doesn't have to be a struggle. Any obstacle can be conquered almost effortlessly if we hold our course. But if we give in to whatever tries to prevent us from being a free thinking observer, then we run the risk of becoming stagnant and polluted.

We each stand before this enormous thing called the "collective," or the acceptable norms of society. We're trained to think like it, act like it, and plan for the future like it. We're expected to do what it does, yet for many of us, its more like trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. We struggle trying to "fit in" and our lives become hard.

But it doesn't have to be this way, and so when we can see the collective for what it is, we can merely "take what we like and leave the rest," carving a path for us to get by it and move on.

In this way, we can then personally imitate the Universe by allowing our own observations and perceptions to lead us into creatively being rather than socially doing. We'll become a true reflection of everything the Universal consciousness is and flow freely without conflict or effort.

Q & P Continues

more perceptions on the big questions . . .

Is consciousness IN the Universe, or is the Universe consciousness itself?

Lao Tzu wrote that the real value of a vessel is the empty space. A bowl's usefulness is in the hollow space that can be filled. The space between the spokes makes the wheel work as one and gives it its strength.

But does the Universe have a vessel that its contained in? Or is the Universe the container, the vessel itself?

All manifestations of consciousness are revealed within the "empty" space. We ride the wave of energy that the Universe is and by observing, things take their forms. But have we observed the outer reaches of the Universe?

It seems that the further we look, the more we see, so perhaps the Universe is both the vessel and the empty space completely contained in itself with an outer edge that expands as we get near to seeing it.

If this is so, then the Universe IS consciousness and we, the observer set its boundary by our own limitations.

If particle/wave duality is determined by observation, are there things we haven't seen yet that exist around us?

We're more or less "locked" into seeing what we see by the collective. That which is acceptable to our programmed intellect is easily seen and identified. Yet those who venture beyond what is considered normal tend to pick up on "other" things.

An artist sees light differently than the average person because of his or her mindset toward casting the right shadows in an created image. A police officer may see different characteristics on people's faces then the average person because he's looking for potential problems. Some people see the dark as a scary place, while others find it protective.

The things you see are there because of your programming and your attitude toward the world around you. Just like how the Universe expands the further out we look, so does the manifestations of the observer.

What else exists? Well that depends on what you want to exist and how far you're willing to open yourself up to the possibilities. Or as they say now a days . . .

How far down the rabbit hole are you willing to go?

The Law of Reversion

about letting go . . .

George Harrison wrote in his song "All Things Must Pass":

"Sunrise doesn't last all morning,
A cloudburst doesn't last all day.
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning . . .
. . . But its not always going to be this gray."

All of nature follows a steady flow of rise and fall. Life becomes death, day becomes night, new becomes old, and so forth. Yet humanity tries to hold on and thus makes their feeble attempts to solidify everything around them. We hate letting go and because of it, we suffer immensely throughout our lives.

In essence, what we're doing is creating an unnatural environment of solid when there isn't anything in our lives that doesn't revert from one state to the other. As a result, we're hurt by loss, confused with change, and angered over the lack of control.

Yet we watch the grass grow and know that in just a couple of months it'll stop and begin turning brown again. We've experienced how quickly the weather can change, and we're usually fine with that.

What we have trouble with is the fact that everything ebbs and flows, rises and falls, comes and goes. Holding on forever is not an option.

Trying to hold on to anything permanently would be like getting on a giant roller coaster and expecting to stay still and level. It just isn't going to happen!

But if we looked at life in this Universe more like riding a horse, where going with the gait gives you better control over where you're going (not to mention it'll keep you from getting saddle sores), then we'd probably fare much better with what life deals us.

By going with the flow and attracting the good that can come out of any and every situation, we'll be better in tune with the way the Universe works.

This Law of Reversion is as natural as anything else in the Universe. Its going to happen anyway, so why try to fight it?

The Paranormal

natural vs unnatural . . .

In this "mystical" realm of Quantum physics you'd expect that there'd be a lot of stuff relating to the paranormal, but actually, its quite the opposite. Quantum physics teaches that the Universe is "all natural," pure, with nothing that doesn't fit or belong.

Rather we'd have to classify everything as "understood" and "not yet understood," or "known" and "not known."

So then, what's "going bump in the night?"

To put it plainly we'd have to say its energy. There's a lot going on in our Universe all the time even though we, as observers, aren't seeing it happen. Time is irrelevant on the Quantum level, location isn't fixed, and the tangible is, well, not.

Couple that with our insistence on accepting what's real collectively, we're bound to run across things and events that don't fit into that collective acceptability standard.

The first step toward "naturalizing" everything universally then, would be to reject the idea that everything we don't understand has to be abnormal or paranormal. Everything rides the same wave, so it, you, me, comes from the same source.

Does this mean ghosts are real?

Not necessarily. But it could mean that some particles are entangled from someone who lived before and we can perceive them to some degree because we want to or expect to.

This could explain why ghosts are "found" usually in the most likely places, like old houses, castles, abandon prisons and places where tragedies occur.

However, whatever's taking place in the corner of our eye should be accepted as being normal and completely natural. The further away from the collective thinking on what it could be will bring us closer to finding out the possibilities.

Quantum Consciousness - Science or Religion?

the answer may surprise you . . .

If you've read the other articles on this site, then you're probably aware that I'm not a physicist. My mathematical abilities took a nose dive at high school algebra and never recovered. So I can't go into the quantum math and do it any justice. However, I believe I've provided you with ample references throughout this page, so that if you really did want the mathematics on the topic, you have the sources and the technology to get it.

On the other hand, I did my stint with religion and concluded that I had had enough of it years ago. So you won't get the sense that I'm rooting for it, and in fact, I believe its held us up quite long enough in our quest for answers. I can go head to head with the most educated theologists, and usually win any argument, but what's the point?

So to make a long story short, Quantum Consciousness is neither science or religion. Rather it comes down to being a spiritual awareness that surpasses both.

While the physicist are trying to get past the theory that the Universe is a machine, and the theologians are saying that the world needs more dogma and rigid rules to save itself, Quantum Consciousness is about the spirit of what we are and what we can become once we truly understand it all.

Quantum Consciousness is about letting go of all the stuff that keeps us bogged down to the tangible aspects of life and gives us a chance to fly freely. Its about tolerance and openness, and shedding off the masks and inhibitions. Its about allowing our natural inclinations to set the guidelines rather than trying to fit us all into the same box.

There's room in this Universe for differences, and certainly time for exploration of new things that can be created. And that's what its all about.

We could be on the verge of a new kind of spirituality if we let it!

The Law of Accountability

responsibilities of the free thinker . . .

Quantum Consciousness brings a freedom that virtually negates all directives set in place by the Collective. It allows you to see your Universe as you wish it to be and opens all imaginable possibilities to you. It frees you of submission to dogma designed to keep people like you and me in our place.

Now some people might call this throw the world into total anarchy and chaos if everyone attempted to follow their own path.

Yet the truth is that only two types of people would agree to this idea. Those that are afraid of not having a clear set of rules to follow and those who are afraid of losing the control they have over others.

If a human being was given the freedom to truly be conscious, with no influence other than what he or she opted to be influenced by, instinct would begin dictating the course that person should follow to achieve their desired outcome.

Instinct, whether you call it "fight or flight," or "cause and effect," is like an internal authority that proves to us over and over again that consequences really do happen, and that if you want the good, then doing stupid things will deeply disappoint you.

Taking this another step forward, on a Quantum level we are all just One thing, and so the consequences we muster can and will effect everyone as they compound. Which if you think about it, is what the control people fear the most.

But a person who is conscious on this Quantum level would fully understand this and thus take into consideration the impact his or her desires and actions would have on the Universe. It would thus become an individual responsibility to safeguard the flow of thought and deed to assure no harm results.

In effect, a Quantum thinker understands that we are punished BY our sins and not for them, and that its the cumulation of those wrong turns that eventually have an impact on our world.

The Quantum thinker also realizes that positives cumulative too. He or she thus becomes responsible, if not eager to maintain the steady and accumulating flow of good energy building in the Universe.

In this regard, the Universe becomes like a canvas waiting to become a beautiful painting. We each hold a brush in our hand and are invited to contribute. If we can see beyond the "lines" of collective control, then we know that in order for the painting to be amazing, we need to be accountable to the greater good and guide our brush to make a positive mark.

The Mind and Body Collective

fear and disease . . .

As we've discussed already, the Collective can do much to heal the world if it sets its "mind" to it. If enough people believed that focused consciousness can attract change, then we would have the world that so many of us crave.

Most of what we find in our environment is the result of fear transmitted over the centuries by millions of minds consciously focused mainly on fear. As the years go by and generations come and go, this fear consciousness makes the world more fearful which, in turn, creates more focus on it.

So it would stand to reason that if we could shift the focus, we'd also shift the results and effects!

This brings up an interesting thought if we look at it from a less universal, more individual level . . .

One of the biggest fears people have is in disease. The medical field makes billions of dollars each year as it counts on this fear to keep patients running back to them with every change in their bodies.

But what if disease, like everything else, is just the result of "focused" observation?

Perhaps our family history shows a trend toward cancer or heart problems. Could that be because our genetic make up is prone to that sort of problem, or could it be because one family member had the problem and thus the rest of the family is focused on the fear of having it occur to them?

The news we watch on TV is filled with precautions and warnings about disease causing agents in our food, our air, our water, and even our homes. Could it be that focusing in on these warnings could create a more likelihood of it reaching us?

It would be interesting to find out if, say people who were overly germ conscious were more susceptible to getting sick. From my own experience with people around me, it would seem to be the case.

People I know who constantly worry about germs and scrub their houses every day, throw out food rather than eat leftovers, bathe incessantly, purify their air and water, all seem to get sick more often than other friends who aren't so conscious of germ infestations.

Our thoughts have everything to do with how our Universe turns out. This is true globally as well as individually!

Yes, our minds can control the effects of fear on our bodies. Learning to eradicate fear is the beginning of healing our world and our self.
