HERE'S WHAT I THINK
I Love The New Squidoo Page Layouts
I truly love the new design. I believe that we (lensmasters) are going to see increased sales, more traffic and better feedback from our lenses. I think that the new look is ultra professional and projects the message that Squidoo is growing and improving.
Stagnation Stinks!
Here's my SquidU post and I stand by my words.
Now if we take off our "Squid Specs" and just look at the lens from a fresh point of view we might be pleasantly surprised. Try and find someone who has not seen much of Squidoo. You grandmother, Aunt Ruth, your 9-year-old cousin and see what they think. Or search the internet by random key words and see what comes up. If you find a lens stand 3 feet away from your computer and see how the lens looks. Try to view the lenses as a new consumer, not a lensmaster. I think that you will be surprised at how much people are loving the new look!

It took some getting used to, but I do agree with you. The one down side is that it's confusing that in the different types of squidoo lens (squidwho, squidlit etc.) the lensroll button is in a different place.

At first, I wasn't convinced, but after some tweaking I've to really like the new look. My only reservation is the amount of blue on the right side of the lens. Other than that, great!

I love the new blue background (and wondering why other folks are seeing a black background, as mentioned in other posts on the other thread about this, cause it's quite clearly a nice shade of blue on my screen, and I love it!). The blue background is much easier on the eyes than the white background was. (I'd like to see a darker backgroud color added to SquidWho too!... but don't change SquidVids bright yellow! I so totaly love the SquidVid Yellow, it's amazing!)
The layout itself is much more user friendly, looks a lot like you're reading a newspaper now, which is good, cause it gives a nice "friendly" feel to it.
I'd like it better if we had the option to use either the old orange or the new blue, cause both look good.
I miss the lens pictures on the lensroll section though, I always loved scrolling down lenses and looking for more lenses to read, basing my judgement entirly on the image, now I'm forced to stop and read the titles, which I'm not as likely to do as often.
I like the way the title and lensmaster info is in line across the top now, that looks super! I esp like how my giant squid badge (and my gold star awards) show up next to my name now (no more adding it in via html codes! yaaa!!!)
I like the new gold and purple stars (I can't wait to see who gets the first purple star, I want to see what they look like!)
I think my fave thing of all, though is the new Giant Squid badge. The lilac color is amazing! I love it! It is soooo pretty! (That'd make a good background color, for some future lens-maker thing, like SquidWho). I love that the new badge has a shield like the other Squid badges now too, makes it look more "official". I think I could write chapters on how much I love the new Giant Squid badge! LOL!
So, while there are a couple of things I don't like, most of the changes I totally love, and over all, I think it's a change for the better. I can't wait to see the final results.

Actualy its the very first thing about squidoo which I think realy sucks! The new blue menu screams more than my own content. My freinds all say the same and some of them have viewed this for the first time. I like the scrollbar and the other extras, But not the side bar and especialy not one as wide as this. make it thinner and drop the color tone a little and maybe I will breath better?

I love the Table of Contents. It needs a bit more finess though.
The third collumn is way too intrusive.
The page is so busy now that it's hard to see what the lens is about.

Whilst I like 90% of the new look the 3rd column, more pages by me, column placement stinks!
If other lensmasters are like me they'll have to go through a lot of lenses to readjust the first module or 2 so that it looks good with this intruding on the modules. If this has been made into a banner in that position it wouldn't be so bad as the right column can afford to slide an inch or 2.
I'd love to vote yes, as there is so many good things to love in these changes, but I'd like to see that column rotated through 90 to make me change my vote!
