Hi, I'd like to tell you a bit about myself. I am a cosmetologist in New Hampshire. and have been doing hair and skin care for 18 years. I love doing hair, skin care, makeup and nails. Hair and Skin Tips

I realized way back that the only way I would make a decent income in this field was to work for myself. So, back in 1992, I bought a small business and started out on my own. Wow, this was great!

Then, I decided to cut out as much overhead as possible. That is when I bought a house and converted one whole room into my beauty salon.

I have worked at home ever since. It was great while my daughter was growing up. So many mothers have to work outside of the home and kids end up spending too much time alone, so I am so very grateful to have had this opportunity.

Recently, I was introduced to the Network Marketing Industry. It sure did look promising. This was a way to time and financial freedom, right? It sure did have appeal. But, I soon discovered that it was not working for me. What was wrong? I was doing everything that my upline told me to do. You know, "create a names list", "talk to everyone", "when in doubt, blurt it out". I'm sure you've heard these and possible more.

I did everything, even when I thought it was odd. Talking to people in the checkout line. Kind of weird, but, OK, I'll do it. Every time my husband and I went to dinner, I always had to be listening for an opportunity to tell the waitress about my business. Talk about uncomfortable! I would feel my heart rate come up, just trying to think of the perfect way to approach her/him. Of coarse she/he is very busy, so approaching them at this time seems rude, but, this is what I've been told to do. This is what works.

Any way, after doing this for 2 and a half years, I was at a complete loss. I was getting no where and wanted to walk away from the whole thing. I stopped doing anything. I stayed in the business, but just did the minimum. I sold a few products and that was about it. I stopped going to business opportunity meetings. It just felt like such a waste of my time. (actually, as I'm writing this, my business opportunity is having an opportunity meeting) My upline is unsure what to make of my falling away. I was doing everything I was told. Now, nothing.

I have not told them, yet, what I have found. I'm not sure how they will take it. I'm not doing the business the way I have been taught. I have stepped into a whole other world. It is the world of "Internet Marketing" or "Attraction Marketing" or "Social Marketing". This is what I have been looking for. A way to have people coming to me. Wow! I don't have to chase people? I don't have to cold call? I don't have to talk to people in the check out line? or the waitress? Again, I say, "wow"!
