New Ulm, The City of Charm and Tradition

All roads lead to home.  Sometimes that means your home town.  I've lived in beautiful Oregon, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and New York and visited many places in between.  New Ulm, Minnesota holds my heart: I invite you to visit, experience our Willkommen and discover a town that is truly 'happy to greet you'!

New Ulm The City of Festivals

New Ulm The City of Beer

Okay, now I am making that beer part up. But not really! We do sport the second oldest family owned brewery in the country. The fifth generation August Schell Brewery. So with Festivals & Beer in mind: Prosit! But one sure doesn't need a festival to visit the Brewery or New Ulm! I try to give my guests a heads up on the tours: They sell out! And with the addition of Brian Yaeger's new book about beer in the USA and the people who make it, God love 'em, Schells is a standout! And one never knows when they might spot a Lakemaid !

We just spent the weekend in New Ulm...what a wonderful weekend we had! It was extremely warm and welcoming, despite the frigid temps and blizzard conditions! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, from our superb hostess at the Bohemian Inn to the drive-through girl at BK (how often can you say that?)! It's one of those towns that just makes you want to move there! We would definitely love to visit again...soon!

I've traveled through Minnesota a few times but I don't think I've seen New Ulm. Sounds like an interesting place.

I was born in Neu Ulm and when I googled sister cities, found your town. I would love to retire there! If we ever visit MN, I'll know where to stay. Found you through your comment at Military Brats.
