- New Year's Eve is my birthday, so it's usually a fun day. This year I was sick and spent it in bed. Thanks for explaining the traditions in different countries. Happy new year!

- Lovely lens ~ it's nice to learn what traditions people hold from various cultures. Generally, with us it used to be getting together with family and friends, going to a dance and enjoy food and drink and of course each others' company. Happy New Year! **Blessed by a Squid-Angel**

- This must have taken a lot of research! How interesting. And I see you have out town's New Year's tradition included--Flagstaff's pinecone. Not that it's a regular pinecone. It's a large, lighted, five-foot by seven-foot, gold and silver aluminum pinecone weighing more than 80 pounds. And when we say it's "dropped," we mean it's lowered from the balcony of the historic, downtown Weatherford hotel. I think we're actually going to go downtown for the celebration and "drop" this year, ourselves.
