Top 10 New Years Resolutions

New Years is a special time of year, and is obviously a time when many of us make resolutions that we promptly abandon, usually by the second week of January.  This year, however, will be different.  This is the year when we will stick to our resolutions, once and for all.

1.    Fitness.   Let's face it, not many of us ever say at the end of a year that we are in too good of shape or that we spent too much time working out over the past year.

2.    Weight Loss.   Most of us can stand to lose a few pounds, at least.  Be honest.

3.    Get Organized.   Not the most exciting topic on the planet, but if you're like me, your home and office could use some major organization.

4.    Eliminate Debt.   I am not suggesting that everyone eliminate all debt.  Some debt is almost inevitable, such as a mortgage and perhaps student loans.  Credit card debt and car loans can be paid off, by the end of 2008.

5.    Improve Job Performance.  We all like to think we're God's gift to our employer, but there's always room for improvement.

6.    Quit Smoking. Smoking is unhealthy and unattractive.  Nearly every smoker says they're trying to quit, or says they'll smoke less, or some such pronouncement, yet they never do.  This is the year to quit, for good.

7.    Make More Money.  Unless you're Bill Gates, you could probably use some extra cash flow every month.

8.    Help Others.  New Years resolutions and self-improvement need not always be about ourselves.  Helping others is a great way to improve our own enjoyment of life in 2008.

9.   Start Your Own Business.  Who wouldn't prefer to work for themselves instead of whoever your boss is?

10.    Have Fun.  This one should be self-explanatory.  Have fun with family, friends, pursuing hobbies, etc.

Stop Smoking

If you're a smoker, the single best thing you can do for your life and for your family is to stop smoking. Let's face it, smokers aren't proud of what they do. Nobody ever has a New Years Resolution to smoke more packs a day this year. Every smoker always says they're going to cut back or quit next week/month/year, and few ever do. These resources will help you quit.
