It will run Google's Android 2.1 software on a lightning-fast processor & be sold directly by Google.

So what's inside the Nexus One? Here is an overview of what we know.
OPERATING SYSTEM: Nexus One will run Android 2.1, the latest version of the operating system.CPU: 1-GHz Snapdragon CPU
SCREEN: 3.7-inch 480 x 800 display
MEMORY:, 512 MB of of RAM and an expandable 4-GB microSD card
CAMERA: 5-megapixel camera with LED flash
CONNECTIVITY: Wi-Fi, accelerometer, compass and proximity sensors.
HOW MUCH? WHERE TO BUY?
According to leaked documents, here is what to expect.
HOW MUCH?UNLOCKED (NO CONTRACT): $530 (though according to Engadget, it will not work on AT&T's 3G network).
LOCKED (SUBSIDIZED PRICE): $180 and customers will have to sign up for a two-year contract.
WHERE TO BUY?
The phone could start retailing as early as Tuesday through either T-Mobile or the Google website.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
** If you want it subsidized, you'll have to sign up for a 2 year mandatory contract and pay $180 for the phone.
** You can only buy five Nexus One phones per Google account.
