What Do You Think of the Lady Garden Gnomes?

The Garden Gnome is very popular in the United States. It is rarely found anywhere else. The gnome is actually a figurine of a small, short humanoid creature usually found wearing a red pointed hat and smoking a pipe. These figurines were first made in Germany. The general appearance of a gnome is often a dwarfish male figure with a long white beard. They are depicted in different postures. There are many that are either standing or sitting down but occasionally they are also found lying down or trying to scale a toadstool. They are also seen pursuing various past times like napping and fishing. A popular and terribly endearing one is of a gnome leaning against some surface like a tree or the fence admiring a clover leaf.

Gnomes are made from clay poured into moulds. Then they are removed from the mould and dried, after drying they are fried in kiln till they become hard. Then they are cooled. After cooling they are painted.
