National Hockey League
On this site you will find valuable NHL hockey information (all linked to this one page).Books and souvenirs and videos, yes everything hockey!
The latest scores and standings are just below.
All of the up to the minute HOCKEY NEWS is here, as well as NHL BLOGS.
There are many websites out there on the internet which will present this same information. However, here you will find only the:
BEST of the bunch!
For example, I like the presentation on CBS SPORTS to show Scores. They do it in a very clear way and you can easily follow ALL of the games on one page. The page refreshes automatically, and you can set "audible alerts" for games still in progress.
For Team Standings, I like the Yahoo! Sports site, because they illustrate the order in two different ways on the same page (take a look).
To list Player Injuries, I use the FOX sports site because of their unique page layout.
ESPN does an EXCELLENT job with the 2009/10 Schedule! They even display "game attendance" and all previous scores to date.
Just scroll down a wee bit to see the links to these awesome websites.

NHL Hockey Information and History
The National Hockey League (NHL) () is an unincorporated not-for-profit association which operates a major professional ice hockey league as a joint venture for its self perpetuating membership of 30 franchised member clubs of which 24 are located in the United States and the other six in Canada.Constitution of the National Hockey League pp. 1-3 Headquartered in New York City, the NHL is widely considered to be the premier professional ice hockey league in the world, and one of the North American major professional sports leagues. The Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.
The league was organized in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada after the suspension of operations of its predecessor organization, the National Hockey Association (NHA), which had been founded in 1909.The National Hockey League Official Record Book & Guide 2009 77th Edition, p. 9. New York: National Hockey League (2008) It started with four teams and, through a series of expansions, contractions, and relocations, the league is now composed of 30 teams active franchises. After a labour dispute that led to the cancellation of the entire 2004?05 season, the league has staged a successful comeback, including revenue and profit growth. In 2009, the NHL enjoyed record-high sponsorships, crowds and television viewers.
The NHL draws many highly skilled players from all over the world and currently has players from about 20 different countries. Although Canadians have historically constituted the majority of the players in the NHL, over the past four plus decades the percentages of American and European trained players have increased both because of the NHL's continued expansion from six to thirty clubs since 1967, and the increased availability of highly skilled European players especially from former East Bloc countries.
Wow, please look at this NHL goal!
By far the most amazing goal scored in a while...
YOU MUST SEE THIS TO BELIEVE IT.
Great goal in 2008.Please leave a comment.

The Ultimate Prize: The Stanley Cup
Amazon Price: (as of 12/11/2009)![]()
Used Price: $3.37
Product Description
There is no greater reward for a hockey player than winning the Stanley Cup.
The Ultimate Prize chronicles the evolution of the sport from the first recorded game played in 1875 to the 2002 Champion Detroit Red Wings. Photographs and statistics of teams, coaches, players, owners, and hockey executives are listed year by year. Facts, legends, and lore will engross the reader.
The Stanley Cup has been called "the peoples" trophy. It travels the globe making public appearances up to 300 days of the year. Unique among team sports trophies, the names of the men (and some women!) who have won it are engraved right on the Cup itself. Hockey players of all ages dream not just of winning the championship but of actually hoisting the glittering silver trophy high above their heads. It is one of sport's ultimate icons and perhaps the world's best-known piece of folk art.Included in The Ultimate Prize are chapters on Stanley Cup heroes, top play-off moments, and the history of the Stanley family. Did you know that Lord Stanley never watched a team that won his trophy, nor ever played the game himself? All seven of his sons played hockey as a team and were outstanding athletes. Daughter Isobel Stanley played the game, too. In truth, the Stanley family is every bit as responsible for the Stanley Cup legacy as his Lordship himself. The Ultimate Prize is chock-full of fascinating facts about the Cup's misspelled player and team names, wrong names, erroneous years won, and even double listing of players. Every hockey fan or sports enthusiast will want a copy of this treasure.

- Caps looking GREAT offensively would still like them to clean up the defense before they challenge for the cup. Be nice to have shut down guy or two on the blue line in the mold of Langway or Stevens, teams will continue to take libertys with our goalies if they dont start cleaning out the crease. They might pull it off with what they got but I keep waiting for our D to knock some of these guys on their cans.
