There are probably hundreds and maybe even thousands of Basketball Tips that have been used since the game's inception. They may pertain to offense or they may pertain to defense. They may be designed to get or keep the ball. Basically, these are a constant and consistent part of every basketball game and are typically game specific related according to the current game play. Therefore, under no circumstances would they all be covered and discussed here with such limited space however, some of the finer and more important ones may be.

The most important facet in major sports...

The most important facet in major sports today is conditioning. However, a more extensive brand of conditioning is required for basketball, making it quite different from other sports. Since you are constantly moving from one end to the other, basketball is widely considered to be a very fast game. Running for long periods of time is common thanks to the duration in between stoppages or timeouts.

Being in shape will greatly increase a player's chances of keeping up with the pace as well as potentially keep one from getting hurt through pulled muscles, strains, and even worse. This is why most basketball practices will consist of a tremendous amount of running. Wind sprints will typically be the norm and will help later on during game moments and can be the difference between winning and losing. Therefore, the best way to keep from getting hurt is by training hard and being conditioned and prepared.

Other Basketball Tips often used in the game of basketball would pertain to dribbling. A variety of dribbling drills are used today, such as butterfly dribbling. Butterfly dribbling is dribbling through your legs while walking forward, switching hands back and forth all the way down the court. You can also have them dribbling with one hand and catching a tennis ball with the other.

A technique that is used for more advanced players is dribbling with two basketballs, moving side to side and forward or backwards for long periods of time walking the length of the floor. If you can dribble the ball using consistent force with both hands, it will help generate a better hand/eye coordination for players.
