Making Money with Niche Marketing
So Just What Is A Niche, Anyway?
A niche is a specific market. Fishing equipment is a market specific to those who like to fish. An example of a sub-niche would be deep-sea fishing, or trout fishing, or bass fishing. Each sub-niche has specific needs that the others do not. Deep sea fishers need heavier equipment, heavier fishing line, and other items that trout or bass fishers do not need.
Finding a niche that is specific enough, but still has needs to fulfill is the trick. A niche that doesn't need products is not a good niche for online marketing. Online marketers research to find the keywords their specific niche or sub-niche use when searching for something in an online search engine. If they are specific enough, find a small market that no one else is serving, but is still large enough to provide a constant rate of traffic to their product offering, they will succeed.
Another broad niche would be footwear. It could be narrowed down into sub-niches such as dress shoes, casual shoes, men's shoes, women's shoes, running shoes, or even further into brands such as Nike® or Reebok®. The more specific the keywords for the market, the more likely the marketer is to find a market. Just finding a market is not enough, though. It needs to be a market with needs or wants. A market that at least thinks it has to have a particular product, or a market that requires the market to be happy.
Niche Research Is A Must!
Finding a niche requires research, then testing to be sure the niche is profitable. Need help learning to find a niche? Google is a good place to start research. You can also search for related blogs and forums. Find what people are asking for or what they are interested in. Read, read and read all these resources until you understand the 'jargon' used by members of this niche. If the words you use in your marketing are misusing the niche jargon, you will be ineffective at best.
This research should help you understand your niche market. Get to know their needs and desires. Get to know what they want. Learn to communicate with them. Then, create an account at Clickbank and find a product you believe your market would need. You can do this in the opposite way, find a product and then find a market, but knowing the market exists first is one of the best ways to ensure that you are not wasting time. Once you have a market and find a product, it is time to create a sales campaign.
